Full description of the position
Tier 1 Auto Supplier seeks a Sales Department Manager within the Business Development team, reporting to the Director of Business Development. This position will be responsible for leading and executing new Business Development acquisition, along with the commercial and program management of all existing business. Candidate must have knowledge and experience in training, mentoring, and leading team members for the successful execution of customer sales strategies and business planning; pre-RFQ business opportunity management, award of business, program launch execution (APQP process), through product end of service requirements. Responsibilities: * Responsible for the entire scope of sales business planning and development process, including development and achievement of current and future sales forecasts, mid-cycle sales forecast updates, sales strategies, plans to win, marketing strategies, and awards of new business. * Responsible for the overall management of the Sales Department's functions and personnel in the Account Management and Program Management teams. * Supervises preparation and submission of annual and mid-term sales budgets. * Prepares and presents monthly Sales reports. * Ensures proper execution of Sales Account Managers' and Program Managers' activities with customers; requirements for quotations, timing plans, specifications, testing, PDP/APQP deliverable requirements, and product end of life (production and service) management. * Responsible for obtaining approval for all commercial quotation process requirements, including, but not limited to, quote reviews approvals, quote submissions, APR proposals, VA/VE proposals, etc. * Responsible for identifying and tracking all key performance indicators for your team to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. * Communicates with various levels of management, technical staff, customer support personnel and representatives of affiliated companies to discuss customer requirements and coordinate response activities. * Maintains knowledge base of competition, industry business trends, and market expectations. * Provides effective leadership and development of direct reports, aligning their roles and responsibilities with the sales plan; mentor and coach team members to support and sustain future growth Required Skills/Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business, Master's degree preferred. * Minimum of 10+ years of sales management and leadership experience at a systems level Tier 1 supplier. * Proven experience in selling OEM products related to Antenna, Infotainment, Connectivity systems. * Strong background in automotive OEM Sales account management leadership, including strategy development and contract negotiations. * Strong background in automotive OEM program management leadership, including the ability to organize, facilitate, and communicate with a global cross functional and cross-cultural organization. * Thinks Strategically and Takes Initiatives - global business acumen. * Ability to work with all levels of management. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (i.e. TEAMS, Excel, PowerPoint, Word), datamining and intelligence gathering. * Excellent interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills.
