About Maverick Maverick designs, deploys, and supports industrial automation, SCADA, and Industrial IoT (IIoT) solutions for utilities, municipalities, and private industry. We are actively transitioning traditional SCADA systems into a more connected, secure, and data-driven IOT-AI environment. We are looking for a Field Sales Engineer who can sell technical solutions and support them in the field. This is not a desk-only sales role. Role Overview The Field Sales Engineer acts as the technical face of Maverick--working directly with customers to identify needs, propose solutions, support deployments, and grow accounts. This role combines customer-facing sales activity with hands-on field support. This position is ideal for someone with a background in controls, automation, telecom, or SCADA who enjoys working directly with customers and wants to grow into a higher-earning technical sales role. Key Responsibilities Identify and develop new customer opportunities Present and sell SCADA, IIoT, and remote monitoring solutions Visit customer sites to assess existing systems and requirements Assist with field deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting as needed Support installation of field devices including gateways, sensors, and panels Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to deliver solutions Maintain customer relationships and identify expansion opportunities Accurately document sales activity and field findings Required Qualifications Technical background in industrial automation, controls, telecom, or IT Comfort working in the field at industrial or municipal sites Ability to understand and explain technical systems to customers Strong communication and relationship-building skills Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally Comfortable using laptops, mobile devices, and basic networking tools Preferred Experience (Not Required) Experience with SCADA systems PLCs, RTUs, or industrial control panels Cellular gateways, VPNs, or industrial networking Remote telemetry or monitoring systems Prior customer-facing or sales experience We will train the right technical candidate who wants to grow into sales. Compensation and Incentives Base salary: $60,000-$68,000 (target $65,000) Commission: Approximately 10% of gross margin on new projects 5% of first-year recurring revenue Quarterly performance bonuses for meeting targets Mileage reimbursement or vehicle allowance Per diem for overnight travel Paid training and advancement opportunities Career Growth This role has a defined growth path: Field Sales Engineer -> Sales Engineer -> Senior Sales Engineer Base pay and commission increase as responsibilities grow.
