The company is headquartered in Gold River and operates eight fitness and sports clubs in Northern California, mostly in the greater Sacramento Region. The company's mission is to create active family-oriented club communities where all members enjoy our clubs as special places to meet, make friends and participate in exceptional fitness, sports and social activities. The clubs offer extensive fitness, swimming, tennis, pickleball, basketball, other court sports, and recreational and social activities for adults and families and are leading providers of youth programs in the region. The Position: The Corporate Sales Director (CSD) is responsible for generating Club revenues through membership sales. The CSD has dotted line supervisory responsibility for the club Membership Directors and works collaboratively with the club GMs to provide direction and leadership to the Membership Sales department. The CSD is responsible for developing and maintaining effective club membership sales teams that meet and exceed their monthly and annual sales targets. Focus: The focus of this position is to maximize club revenue, deliver excellent customer service and maintain the quality and cleanliness of Spare Time Sports clubs and your workspace. Responsibilities : * Achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly membership sales and revenue goals set forth by the company. Review sales numbers and club metrics daily to identify potential training and support opportunities for club sales teams and club staff to ensure sales targets are met. * Develop, monitor and grow member retention-based programs by working collaboratively with other corporate staff to ensure effective implementation in the field. * Recommend membership promotions to boost sales. * Work with Membership Directors to create their Quarterly Strategic Plans; review regularly throughout the quarter and hold accountable to action items. * Prepare Membership pricing recommendations annually using historical data and competitor information. * Recommend new business models and membership pricing strategies; implement approved trial strategies and report outcomes. * Assist with preparation and launch of membership promotions, marketing, and member education and engagement. * Ensure all Sales Directors are held accountable to a monthly business plan. Regularly review Sales Scoreboard to identify opportunities for improved performance. * Assist GMs by interviewing, hiring and onboarding Membership Directors and Sales Team. Ensure a robust training program is in place for Sales team members. * Collaborate with Corporate Fitness Sales Director to coordinate membership sales staff engagement in the new member orientation program ensuring appointment set, and show rate goals are met. Provide metrics to track. * Foster and leverage a positive relationship between the Sales and Fitness departments. * Create, update and expand the operating manuals and training materials for the Membership Sales department. Ensure all SOPs and policies are implemented and regularly monitor adherence and effectiveness. * Meet as needed with Club Sales Directors and with the GMs to prepare annual Membership budgets. * Provide expertise and in service trainings to staff to include lead generation techniques. * Take the lead in researching and recommending sales software and manage implementation. * Travel to club locations as assigned. Be an ambassador for the Spare Time culture and brand. QUALIFICATIONS: Skills and Knowledge * Operations in high-end, resort-style, family-oriented facilities (club, hospitality industries) preferred. * Sales, budgeting, and analysis skills. * Word, Excel, POS, CRM proficiency preferred. Work Experience * Minimum three years in a membership sales leadership or management capacity for a high-end athletic club or hospitality company. * Minimum 3 years leading a team of 5+ people. * Minimum 3 years' experience as a successful Club or hospitality company Sales Director. * Previous authoring of Sales Procedures and training materials preferred. Top Essential Characteristics * Excellent customer service and people skills. * Excellent sales and communication skills. * Strong leadership skills. * Competitive and goal oriented. Education * 4-Year Degree preferred. * First Aid/CPR certification required. Schedule * In person. * Frequent visits to all club locations (located in the following counties: Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado and Contra Costa). * 40+ hours per week. Can include weekends and evenings especially at certain times of the month or year. PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: * Occasional bending, kneeling, and lifting of weights up to 90 lbs. * Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing and balancing when at club properties. * Work on club properties may be performed near moving, mechanical parts. The noise level is usually moderate to high at club properties.
