Our team is driven by a passion for quality, sustainability, and building lasting partnerships with the chefs and owners we serve.Position SummaryWe are seeking a driven, food-obsessed Outside Sales Representative to join our growing team. In this role, you will be the "face" of Off The Dock Seafood in the field. You won't be stuck behind a desk--you will be in the kitchens and dining rooms of our clients, consulting with chefs, showcasing new products, and closing deals .The ideal candidate is a "hunter" who thrives on opening new accounts, but also a "farmer" capable of nurturing long-term relationships through exceptional service and deep product knowledge. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales Growth * Prospecting: Identify and target potential new customers (restaurants, hotels, caterers) within your designated territory. * Consultative Selling: Partner with Chefs and Food & Beverage Directors to understand their menus and introduce them to our seafood, meat, and specialty grocery portfolio to enhance their offerings. * The "Center of the Plate": Aggressively grow market share by converting clients to our premium center-of-the-plate protein options. * Account Management: Visit existing customers regularly to check inventory, introduce seasonal specials, and take orders. Product Expertise & Strategy * Stay current on food trends, seasonality (e.g., stone crab season, wild salmon runs), and market pricing to provide valuable insights to clients. * Conduct product demonstrations and cutting tests to prove quality against competitors. * Manage margin and pricing strategies to ensure profitability while remaining competitive. Operations & Communication * Collaborate with the purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery. * Resolve any customer issues regarding delivery or quality with urgency and professionalism. * Utilize CRM software to track sales activity, pipeline, and customer data. Qualifications & Requirements * Experience: Minimum 2+ years of B2B sales experience OR 2+ years of culinary/hospitality experience (Chef, Sous Chef, or Restaurant Manager looking to pivot into sales). * Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of proteins (seafood grading, meat cuts) and specialty ingredients is highly preferred. * Mobility: Must possess a valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle, and a clean driving record. This is a road-warrior role. * Skills: Strong negotiation skills, resilience, and the ability to build rapport quickly with diverse personalities. * Tech Savvy: Comfortable using tablets/laptops for order entry and email communication. Preferred Assets * Existing relationships with local chefs and restaurant owners in the [Insert Territory] area. * A culinary degree or formal training. * Bilingual abilities are a plus.
