Overview As our Manager of Sales and Strategy, you'll lead a team of inside and outside sales professionals -- while directly contributing to outbound business development. You'll build systems, coach talent, and convert insights into revenue, injecting horsepower into the company, expanding bandwidths for all leaders. You will be the driving force of directness and accountability across departments to improve results while supporting ambitious plans for upcoming years. Sales Manager Essential Functions: Grow, Lead & Manage the Sales Team * Supervise inbound (Internal) and outbound (External) sales * Set clear performance standards, sales goals, and KPIs * Hire, train, and coach sales talent to close deals and grow accounts by offering our full range of products and services. * Develop a new commission structure to motivate the sales team. * Implement structured team meetings, reporting, and coaching cadences * You will lead with clarity, structure, and calmness. * You will build scalable systems and coach others to win. * You see opportunities where others see chaos. Be willing to think outside of the box to help clients obtain goals and solve their problems. * You will not be afraid to pick up the phone -- or roll up your sleeves to help the team close deals. * Systematizing the Auction Process * Direct sales, along with the relationships of the Shelving Broker and Dealers. * Grow the shelving dealer and brokers that sell our shelving. * Cultivate and promote our Fixture Storage and Management program * Organize the selling and/or liquidation of miscellaneous assets from our warehouse. * Hire an in-house salesperson with the ability to market and sell these items Drive New Business * Personally pursue, as well as coach your team to close new business across retail and commercial markets * Partner with the VP of Business Development to identify & develop a top prospect list of high-potential clients: retailers, landlords, developers for future growth * Develop and maintain relationships with end-users and wholesale buyers across the globe. * Represent the company at certain trade shows, customer visits, and networking events. This is in partnership with Project Management and Business Development. Sell Products & Services * Sell from in-house inventory and promote large-scale liquidation auctions * Build lasting relationships with both end-user clients and wholesale buyers * Understand client needs and provide tailored, value-driven solutions CRM & Sales Operations * Lead Salesforce adoption and best practices across the team * Build and maintain dashboards, forecasts, and reports * Ensure accurate pipeline management and performance tracking to ensure the Operations Team and the Project Management Teams know what items need to be pursued. Strategy & Cross-Functional Collaboration * Partner with Marketing to align campaigns with outreach goals * Coordinate with Project Management for smooth handoffs * Share market insights and competitive intelligence with leadership * Develop repeatable sales processes that support scale and accountability * Develop a sales forecast to assist with the planning of inventory * Help determine items to be purchased new as well as shelving parts to be re-powder coated. *Key Metrics You 'll Own * Lead volume and quality * Conversion rates (inbound & outbound) * New account acquisition * Team and personal sales performance * Forecast accuracy and pipeline health Skills and Abilities * Solid analytical skills * Proven success in B2B sales, especially in retail, logistics, or service sectors * Track record of new business development and client retention * Fluent with Salesforce (or similar CRM) - reporting, forecasting, and training * Strong coaching, communication, and organizational skills * A proactive, results-oriented mindset * Excellent closing skills and a history of meeting or exceeding targets. * Strong negotiating skills * Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) * Exceptional interpersonal and sales/customer service skills. * Customer relationship skills * Very Proficient in Microsoft Programs - Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point, etc. * Proficiency with spreadsheet software.
