We supply contractors and homeowners with everything needed for residential and commercial remodeling, rebuilding, and renovation such as lumber, tools and hardware, doors, windows, paint, faucets, sinks, and toilets. SUMMARY: To efficiently and profitably estimate, price, order and invoice all stock and special order door and window products. In addition, provide top level service as the primary contact for all customers and products sold by Ashby Lumber. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all door & window products carried and sold by Ashby Lumber, as well as look for new products that will meet our quality standards and fill a need for our customers. * Provide estimates and pricing for all projects as requested by customers. * Accurately write and track Special Orders, Purchase Orders and Vendor Acknowledgements to correctly provide materials to customer and price sales according to the gross profit standards of Ashby Lumber. * Answer phone calls and help walk-in customers. Check voicemail and e mail promptly and return all calls within 1 hour and always by end of day. * Maintain a suitable appearance and keep office presentable for walk-in customers. * Develop and maintain computer skills to efficiently use vendor-specific software and communicate with customers via email. * Work with customers to make sure products are delivered or picked up promptly according to customer's request. Review and properly handle any orders necessary on the weekly Open Order Report and turn in no later than the following Tuesday. Use your order viewer daily to stay on top of all your orders and delivery dates. * Provide top-level service to all current customers, and search for and qualify new customers. * Collect deposits or full payment on all orders without an Ashby account in good standing. * Contact manufacturers for service requests. * Maintain efficient organization of customer files including estimates/quotes and records of past sales which will allow other Door & Window staff to answer customer questions when absent. * Take any steps necessary to provide top level service for customers and assist the D & W Manager in improving accuracy, efficiency and quality of the department's work. * Other specific tasks as assigned by the Door & Window Manager. * Abide by all policies as described in the Employee Manual. * Participate in inventory counts as needed.
