Job Summary Designfusion is seeking a motivated and consultative Additive Manufacturing Account Manager to support both new business development and ongoing account growth across a multi-state territory. This role is responsible for identifying new opportunities, expanding our existing customer relationships, and serving as a long-term strategic partner to manufacturers adopting additive manufacturing solutions. The Account Manager will take a consultative, growth-oriented approach, actively challenging customer assumptions, identifying unmet needs, and uncovering new opportunities while building long-term, value-driven relationships. Success in this role requires balancing proactive new business development with thoughtful account management - owning a book of business while continuously expanding it through strategic discovery, solution alignment, and ongoing customer engagement. This position is ideal for someone comfortable with initiating conversations, driving momentum, and creating demand, not simply responding to inbound requests. Key Responsibilities * Own and grow a defined multi-state territory (Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Wisconsin) by balancing proactive new business development with ongoing management and expansion of an assigned book of business. Act as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for customers throughout the full sales cycle and beyond. * Engage manufacturing leaders to uncover technical, operational, and business challenges. Lead discovery conversations that challenge assumptions and identify opportunities where additive manufacturing equipment, production parts, and engineering services can deliver measurable value. * Proactively generate pipeline through targeted outbound activity, strategic networking, industry events, and trade shows. Initiate conversations with net-new accounts and drive opportunities from early discovery through close. * Sell industrial composite, metal, and resin 3D printers, additive services, and production parts by delivering tailored solution proposals aligned to customer objectives and long-term business goals. * Serve as the lead sales presence in the regional Michigan office, supporting customer relationships and growth initiatives. Approaches the role with a leadership mentality, acting as a collaborative partner to local technical team members, helping align sales strategy, customer engagement, and execution. * Work closely with technical, services, and operations teams to define solution scope, align timelines, manage expectations, and ensure successful customer outcomes. * Maintain accurate pipeline visibility and a rolling 90-day forecast. Manage opportunities with discipline and transparency. * Consistently achieve or exceed assigned sales quotas while contributing to continuous improvement of sales processes and territory strategy. Qualifications and Skills * Minimum of 5 years of experience in consultative B2B sales within industrial manufacturing, additive manufacturing, engineering, or a related technical field. * Proven ability to prospect, develop, and close new business, while simultaneously managing and expanding existing customer relationships. * Associate degree or higher in business, engineering, manufacturing, industrial technology, communications, entrepreneurship, or a related discipline. * Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, engineering workflows, and industrial buying processes. * Demonstrated success selling complex, technical solutions to engineering leaders, operations teams, and executive stakeholders. * Excellent communication, presentation, and discovery skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value. * Strong organizational, territory-planning, and time management capabilities.
