Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Representative to work for a food distributor headquartered in Perth Amboy, NJ. . This role involves developing new business opportunities, managing client accounts, and expanding market presence through strategic sales initiatives. The Sales Representative sells products to business and individuals at sales office, stores, showroom, or customer's place of business and is on the road the majority of the week. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to leverage their sales expertise in a fast-paced environment while contributing significantly to company success. Bilingual Spanish required. The territory for this position is in and around Queens, NY. Salary and commission - $1000+/week ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: * Meets / surpasses assigned route's quarterly and yearly volume goals * Gains, maintains and increases shelf space / products in Dairy, Deli and Meat Depts. * Gains and coordinates Ads and/or promotional activity at store-level * Maintains and increases secondary displays for high-volume/featured products * Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, and other sources * Opens new stores/ locations in the assigned territory * Installs and maintains POS material (e.g., price tags, price cards, shelf strips, floor decals, etc.) * Manages the Spoils-to-Sales ratio below the targeted percentage * Inspects / corrects proper product rotation (FIFO) + removes products close to expiration code or with unsatisfactory cosmetics * Fills empty shelves with product in back-stock before placing the order * Visits / contact account department manager / buyer at least every 2 weeks * Displays and/or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features * Attends to all Store setups / resets inside assigned territory * Performs Market Pricing Audits as needed. * Reports any issues/opportunities (e.g.: product quality, new competitors, stores closings, new stores, upcoming events, anniversaries) * Ensures that financially all account are up-date. Consults with Accounts-receivable Manager and Sales Team Manager. * Takes temperature refrigeration unit reading at store level and records it on order sheet * Maintains Files, Binder and File Box neatly organized and updated monthly * Updates Route Sale Call Book monthly Skills * 2+ years proven experience in food industry sales and territory management Required * Bilingual Spanish required * Excellent customer service skills coupled with a consultative approach to sales * Ability to conduct engaging product demos and technical presentations * Effective communication skills for cold calling, networking, and client interactions * Business development expertise with a focus on account growth and retention * Analytical skills for assessing market data and sales performance metrics * Experience in retail sales preferred * Knowledge of marketing strategies that support lead generation and brand positioning * Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumes Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $1,000.00 per week Benefits: * 401(k) * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Vision insurance Application Question(s): * Do you have at least 2 years experience in territory sales and account management within the food industry?
