Bay Metals is a locally owned metal supply company based in San Francisco's Bayview District. We serve contractors, fabricators, and artists by supplying metal and hardware. We're looking for a dependable, professional individual who takes pride in showing up, communicating clearly, and following through. This role is best suited for someone who values consistency, understands responsibility, and is comfortable working in a structured, hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a first point of contact for customers by phone, email, and in person
• Assist customers with pricing, product availability, and order questions
• Enter orders accurately and look up pricing using our computer system
• Coordinate customer pickups with the warehouse team
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or issues promptly
• Help keep inventory organized and work areas orderly
• Communicate clearly with customers and coworkers to ensure expectations are met Experience
• Reliable attendance and punctuality -- this is essential
• A professional, calm, and respectful communication style
• Strong customer service experience (5+ years preferred)
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree a plus
• Comfort with basic math (inches, feet, and fractions)
• Ability to stay organized, focused, and composed in a busy environment
• Willingness to learn our products and systems (training provided)
• Someone who takes ownership of their work and follows tasks through to completion
• Bilingual skills are a plus
