Bay Metals is a locally owned metal supply company based in San Francisco's Bayview District. We serve contractors, fabricators, and artists by supplying metal and hardware. We're looking for a dependable, professional individual who takes pride in showing up, communicating clearly, and following through. This role is best suited for someone who values consistency, understands responsibility, and is comfortable working in a structured, hands-on environment. Responsibilities * Serve as a first point of contact for customers by phone, email, and in person * Assist customers with pricing, product availability, and order questions * Enter orders accurately and look up pricing using our computer system * Coordinate customer pickups with the warehouse team * Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or issues promptly * Help keep inventory organized and work areas orderly * Communicate clearly with customers and coworkers to ensure expectations are met Experience * Reliable attendance and punctuality -- this is essential * A professional, calm, and respectful communication style * Strong customer service experience (5+ years preferred) * High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree a plus * Comfort with basic math (inches, feet, and fractions) * Ability to stay organized, focused, and composed in a busy environment * Willingness to learn our products and systems (training provided) * Someone who takes ownership of their work and follows tasks through to completion * Bilingual skills are a plus Benefits * Health insurance * Opportunities for advancement based on performance and reliability * Stable, long-term position * Small, experienced team with clear expectations Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 per week Benefits: * Health insurance Work Location: In person
