Outside Sales Representative Company Background: American Producers Supply is an independent distributor of industrial, construction and oil field supplies to businesses throughout much of Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, and into Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Indiana. We have 16 locations to serve our customers. Corporate headquarters and the main distribution center are in downtown Marietta, Ohio. Branches are in Columbus, Sunbury, Cincinnati, Portsmouth, Toledo and Lancaster Ohio; Huntington, Martinsburg and St. Albans, West Virginia; Pittsburgh, State College, PA; Louisville and Glasgow Kentucky; Ferdinand, Indiana; and Wixom, MI. American Producers Supply has been in business for over 127 years is looking for an Outside Sales Representative to fill open positions for our Martinsburg, WV market areas. Salary is based on experience. Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers. * Identify new sales opportunities and develop strategies to increase sales. * Develop and implement marketing plans for assigned territory. * Conduct market research to identify customer needs and trends. * Analyze customer data to identify opportunities for improvement. * Prepare reports, schedules, and presentations for management. * Provide customer service support. * Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms. * Recommend products to customers, based on customers' needs and interests. * Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders. * Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates. * Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support. * Prepare estimates and bids that meet specific customer needs. * Provide customers with product samples and catalogs. * Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences. * Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales. * Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, and filing expense account reports. * Obtain credit information about prospective customers. * Train customers' employees to operate and maintain new equipment.
