Full description of the position

Visions Hotels is a growing organization. We are recruiting for a Hotel DOS for our growing team, Home2 Suites by Hilton in Oswego, NY! This is a great opportunity for a candidate that has a passion for hospitality and sales! Purpose of the Position: To increase profits by increasing room sales and generating business through an aggressive sales effort. Essential Responsibilities: Secures business for the hotels by: * Soliciting business through history files, telephone calls, outside sales calls, and direct mailings within all assigned markets * Meeting with clients to sell hotel room nights and function space * Providing tours of the hotels facilities to prospective clients * Entertaining clients to solicit business through lunch, dinner, and entertainment appointments * Learning, understand, and utilize all Franchise brand specific sales programs and tools * Analyze all reporting tools within each market or hotel (Rubicon, Hotelligence, star, etc) * Participating in Sales Blitzes * Becoming a member and having involvement in industry organizations to meet prospective clients * Participating in community organizations and functions (CVB, Chamber, Inn Keepers, etc.) * Minimum of 2 work days each week outside with scheduled appointments, cold calls, prospecting, community events, etc Contributes to the financial success of the company by: * Selling all product lines of the hotel(s), including catering, rooms, packages, lounge and restaurant promotions * Meeting and exceeding budget and booking goals monthly * Assist GMs with inside sales efforts to meet and exceed monthly goals * Assist GMs with yield management to maximize RevPar * Assist each hotel to create, develop, and utilize a sales and marketing plan * Assist each hotel to create and market property level promotions and packages * Cross sell among markets all Visions Hotels properties and programs * Displaying the highest time management skills * Selling at the highest possible competitive price * Suggestive selling and informing client of benefits/features of the hotel(s) Maintains proper records and files for follow up and future references by: * Creating files for new business * Updating past client files with new information * Tracing files for future solicitation * Ensuring compliance of catering/sales files with standard and specific updating reader files * Submits weekly sales recap/production reports * Submits monthly revenue production reports * Keeping and analyzing records on inquires, cancellations, and lost/turndown business Maintains professional and technical knowledge by: * Attending sale seminars * Obtaining information on local area competition and customer segments * Investigating, researching and developing specific market trends * Understanding laws pertaining to local hotel room taxes, political contributions, alcoholic beverages, guest complaints, ADA, Hotel sales contracts, price fixing, rebates to groups as pertaining to situations * Assisting and understanding the Business Plan for the hotel(s) * Reading, learning, and understanding the hotels' standard operating procedures (SOP) * Learn each individual brands inventory forecasting systems * Coordinates and approves all sales material/collateral for each property specific sales packet, promotion, and or participating event * Approves or seeks Operation Manager's approval for all sales expenses * Keeps Operations Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance * Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position * Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other Visions Hotels Associates to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate * At all times projects a favorable image of the Visions Hotels to the public.
