We are a leading manufacturer's representative agency specializing in industrial and commercial plumbing, hydronic heating, steam, and process equipment. We provide equipment sales, technical support, system design assistance, and field service solutions to engineers, contractors, facility operators, and end users. We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Inside Sales, Engineering & Customer Support Specialist to join our team. This role supports our sales, service, and engineering staff by assisting with system design concepts, project takeoffs, troubleshooting, equipment and parts identification, quotations, warranty processing, and overall customer service. The ideal candidate is technically inclined, detail-oriented, and eager to learn the mechanical systems industry. Key Responsibilities Inside Sales & Quoting * Prepare accurate and timely equipment and parts quotations for contractors, distributors, engineers, and end users. * Review specifications, drawings, and bid documents; assist with construction project takeoffs and bill-of-materials generation. * Support outside sales staff through pricing strategy, documentation, and quotation follow-up. Engineering & Technical Support * Assist engineering staff with system design concepts , equipment selections, pump/boiler sizing basics, and application questions. * Identify and interpret equipment data, product configurations, and technical submittal requirements. * Support the field service team with troubleshooting assistance , product diagnostics, and coordination for on-site service needs. Customer Support & Operations * Provide prompt and professional customer communication by phone, email, and CRM platform. * Assist customers with product parts identification , order tracking, availability inquiries, and replacement recommendations. * Process warranty claims , documentation, and manufacturer coordination. * Maintain updated product knowledge across our represented lines. Cross-Department Support * Work collaboratively with the sales, engineering, and service departments to support project logistics, scheduling, and documentation. * Participate in vendor training, lunch-and-learns, and internal technical education sessions. * Contribute to process improvements in quoting, order entry, and customer communication. Qualifications Required * Associate degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering technology, HVAC, plumbing, construction, or related field (or willingness to learn). Preferred but not required * Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hydronic, plumbing, steam, or HVAC systems. * Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word). Preferred * Experience with CRM or ERP systems. * Ability to read basic mechanical/architectural drawings and specifications. * Prior exposure to plumbing, HVAC, mechanical contracting, or equipment sales is a plus.
