Our Culture and Values provide Team Members with a rewarding lifestyle and work/life balance. * Job title:* Director of Sales Glen Kernan Club Reports to: General Manager Classification: Full-time Exempt Working Hours: According to shift assignments (weekend availability required) Job purpose The Director of Sales is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the growth, retention, and overall quality of the clubs membership while maximizing private event and social revenue. This position serves as a key ambassador of the club, cultivating relationships with prospective members, current members, and community partners, while ensuring an exceptional, personalized experience that reflects the clubs standards of excellence. Duties and responsibilities Membership Sales & Strategy * Develop and execute a comprehensive membership sales strategy aligned with the clubs long-term vision and financial goals. * Actively prospect, qualify, and convert individuals and families into membership. * Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective members, guiding them through the application, interview, and onboarding process. * Maintain strong relationships with existing members to support retention, upgrades, and referrals. * Monitor market trends, competitive clubs, and pricing structures to ensure the club remains positioned as a premier offering. Event & Private Sales * Lead all private event sales, including social, corporate, charitable, and member-hosted events * Collaborate closely with culinary, operations, and event execution teams to deliver seamless, high-touch experiences * Create customized event proposals, contracts, and pricing structures that reflect both revenue goals and member expectations * Ensure consistent follow-up, communication, and post-event relationship management to encourage repeat business Leadership & Collaboration * Work in partnership with the General Manager & Food and Beverage Director to align membership and event initiatives with overall club strategy * Represent the club at select community, social, and networking events as a brand ambassador * Establish and track key performance metrics related to membership growth, event revenue, and satisfaction Brand & Member Experience * Uphold and promote the clubs culture, traditions, and standards of discretion and professionalism * Ensure all membership and event interactions reflect a refined, welcoming, and service-oriented approach Qualifications & Experience * Minimum of 57 years of progressive sales experience in a private club, luxury hospitality, resort, or high-end event environment * Experienced relationship-driven sales leader with a deep understanding of luxury service, consultative selling, and experiential events within a primate cub or high-end hospitality environment * Proven success in membership sales, relationship-based selling, and private event revenue generation * Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills * Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze data, forecast revenue, and develop strategic initiatives * Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities with discretion * Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as required by club events and member needs Working conditions Work is both indoors and outdoors. Potential exposure to sharp and rapid equipment movement, sharp utensils, harmful chemicals and/or solvents if proper safety procedures are not followed. Ability to use logical and rational thinking to resolve issues. Ability to perform basic medium level mathematical skills, write and read member & corporate communication and be the lead of membership recruitment on behalf of the Club. Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift up to 40 lbs., up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 10 lbs. constantly. Perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, pushing, lifting and grasping for up to 5 hours without sitting. Ability to consistently lift, carry and load adaptive and other sports equipment that may weigh 40 or more pounds, and sustain aerobic activity for 20 consecutive minutes. Please be advised that all work that requires the use of a ladder more than 8 ft. long must be reviewed by Hampton Golfs Club Maintenance person. Following an assessment of the situation, a determination will be made as to whether a maintenance team member or subcontractors will perform the necessary maintenance task. No other staff member is authorized to climb to heights exceeding 8 ft. and/or perform such maintenance. In addition, personnel are prohibited from entering facility attics, walking on the roof of buildings and/or from using scaffolding.
