Based in Ogden, UT, we work across industries to deliver innovative robotics and automation that make a difference. Position Overview We are seeking an Application Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on assisting our sales team in concepting and defining new automation projects for our customers. This position would also help with feasibility studies, part specification, estimating and proposal writing for new projects. Key Responsibilities * Partner with Sales to gather customer requirements and convert them into technical solutions and proposals. * Create conceptual designs, 3D CAD models, and layout drawings for manufacturing systems. * Specify components (motors, sensors, actuators, PLCs, robot models, end-of-arm tooling, bearings, fasteners, pneumatic/electric parts). * Perform feasibility simulations and analyses to validate concepts. * Prepare technical documentation for proposals and handoff to engineering (CAD files, drawings, quote packages, assumptions). * Attend shop/factory acceptance tests and customer meetings as needed. * Provide technical support during quoting and early project stages; help scope timeline, materials, and risks. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience. * 2 - 3 years' experience in mechanical or electrical design related to manufacturing systems (material handling, conveyors, pick-and-place, fixtures, or machine design). * Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks / Creo / Inventor). * Hands-on experience or demonstrable familiarity with component specification and sourcing. * Good written and verbal communication -- comfortable working directly with Sales and customers. * Willingness to travel to customer sites and factories (regional travel). * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
