Overview: Lavender Bakery & Cafe is a renowned third-wave cafe known for its artisan breads, handcrafted desserts, and cakes, proudly sourced from our mother company, the famous Lavender Bakery. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Shift Lead to join our team. Responsibilities: As a Shift Lead, you will: Leadership and Team Management Oversee daily operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and excellent service. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring all team members contribute to shift goals. Lead by example, embodying the company's core values and standards. Customer Service Excellence Ensure all customers receive warm, attentive, and personalized service. Address customer concerns and feedback promptly and professionally. Promote and educate customers about our bread, desserts, and signature coffee offerings. Sales and Inventory Management Monitor product levels and ensure timely restocking of bread, pastries, and cafe items from the walk-in and freezer. Manage POS systems, cash handling, and daily sales reporting. Assist in achieving sales targets and upselling products when appropriate. Barista and Food Preparation Prepare high-quality coffee beverages in line with third-wave cafe standards. Assist with plating and presenting bakery items, ensuring consistency and quality. Train and mentor team members on barista and food preparation techniques. Shift Operations and Compliance Open and close the cafe as required, following company procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas, including the cafe, kitchen, and customer seating. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations. Collaboration with Management Communicate shift feedback, challenges, and successes to the management team. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving operations and customer experience. Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience working in a bakery or cafe setting. At least 1 year of experience in a Shift Lead or supervisory role. Strong knowledge of third-wave coffee preparation and service. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to manage time, multitask, and work under pressure. Passion for artisan baked goods, desserts, and providing a memorable customer experience.
