Full description of the position

Position Title: Outside Sales Representative - Appliances Location: 3510 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073 + Travel Hybrid Reports To: Sales Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview: We are seeking a driven and dynamic Outside Sales Representative to join our team and expand our presence in the appliance industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating sales and building relationships with customers, including builders, designers, architects, institutions, developers and other businesses. This role requires someone who is self-motivated, has a strong understanding of the appliance industry, and is capable of managing a sales territory independently. Key Responsibilities: Sales Generation: * Actively prospect and generate new business by identifying leads and expanding customer base within assigned geographic area. * Build and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients to drive sales growth. * Develop tailored solutions for customers by understanding their appliance needs and recommending appropriate products. * Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. Customer Engagement: * Conduct on-site visits to meet with clients, demonstrate products, and provide detailed information on features and benefits. * Provide excellent customer service throughout the sales process, from initial inquiry to post-sale follow-up. * Offer product training and education to customers, helping them make informed purchasing decisions. Sales Presentations: * Deliver engaging and persuasive product presentations to potential clients, both in-person and via virtual meetings. * Demonstrate product features and benefits, addressing customer questions and concerns. Territory Management: * Develop and maintain a structured schedule for customer visits, ensuring consistent follow-up with leads and prospects. * Maintain a detailed pipeline of sales opportunities and provide regular updates to management on progress. * Regularly report on territory activities, sales metrics, and competitor activity. Market Knowledge: * Stay informed about current appliance trends, product innovations, and market conditions to provide customers with the most up-to-date information. * Monitor industry competitors and adjust sales strategies accordingly to maintain a competitive edge. Collaboration & Reporting: * Collaborate with internal teams, including customer service, marketing, and technical support, to ensure a seamless customer experience. * Prepare and submit sales reports, including forecasts, opportunities, and activity updates. Administrative Responsibilities: * Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales transactions, and contact information using the company's CRM system. * Process customer orders and follow up to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction. Qualifications: Experience: * Proven experience in outside sales, preferably in appliances, or similar industry. * Experience selling to contractors, builders, and retailers is a plus. * Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas. * Experience in relationship-based selling and account management. Skills: * Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively explain product features and benefits to a diverse customer base. * Strong negotiation skills and the ability to close sales effectively. * Proficiency with CRM systems and sales software to manage leads, track sales activities, and generate reports. * Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Education: * High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field a plus. Other: * Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for frequent travel within the assigned territory. * Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary for events. * A strong understanding of appliance product specifications, energy efficiency, and the ability to sell these benefits effectively. Physical Demands: * The role requires significant travel and regular visits to client locations within the assigned territory. * Ability to lift and carry product samples, catalogs, and promotional materials. * Must be comfortable with standing, walking, and performing demonstrations for extended periods.
