Senior Technical Sales position is available for an energetic and experienced salesperson preferably with a mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering degree or a business degree with the aptitude to sell mechanical or electrical devices in a consultative selling environment. Experience with Auto-CAD and take-off/project estimating software preferred. Thermal Devices is a growing industrial distributor specializing in the sale and application of industrial heating cable (Heat Trace) and control products to manufacturing and contracting customers. Our customers use our heating cable for freeze protection and for process heating requirements on pipes, tanks, gutters, etc. Qualified candidates must currently be living within a 45 minute drive of Mount Airy, Maryland . An interest in B2B sales and an outgoing personality are required as is the ability to work independently. The position will necessitate sales calls and visits to customers at construction sites or industrial manufacturing plants. Travel is typically daily when required. Rarely, overnights may be necessary or more convenient. It is expected that the daily travel will represent no more than 60% of your work time and the other 40% will be in the sales office located in Mt. Airy, MD. Daily travel will generally be to areas in PA, DE, MD & VA. This position is a long-term position with years of experience required in the position to become proficient. As such, successful candidates must demonstrate their ability to succeed long term in a position and show a track record of at least 5 years successful experience in the industrial and commercial products market.
