Position Overview Pecan Solutions Inc. is a leading point-of-sale (POS) provider based in Brooklyn, NY with over 3,500 installations nationwide. We provide tailored POS, payments, and 24/7 technical support solutions to the food-service industry. The Sales Development Representative (SDR) / Appointment Setter plays a focused early-funnel role responsible for outbound calling, qualifying leads, coordinating appointments, and serving as the first point of contact for prospective merchants. This role also performs cross-team operational, order- processing, and administrative functions essential to a small-business environment. Due to the on-site nature of this position, candidates within approximately a 30 minute commute are strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Sales Development (Primary) * Perform outbound calling to book qualified appointments for the Pecan POS sales team. * Follow up on inbound leads from marketing campaigns, website inquiries, email campaigns, events, and referrals. * Qualify leads to ensure merchant fit (restaurant type, processing volume, POS needs). * Conduct timely callbacks for warm leads and missed calls. * Manage and update all leads in the CRM [please apply online] ensuring accurate status, notes, and follow-up activity. * Re-engage older or unresponsive leads using a structured follow-up cadence. * Coordinate calendars between merchants and sales reps to ensure smooth appointment handoff. * Confirm merchant attendance for scheduled appointments. * Send marketing or informational materials to qualified prospects as needed. * Track appointment and lead-conversion metrics. * Represent Pecan POS professionally as the first point of contact for prospective merchants. Cross-Team Operations & Administrative Support (Secondary) * Support cross-team coordination between Sales, Support, and Operations. * Assist with order-processing workflows, including order entry and documentation handoff. * Maintain internal records, organize workflows, and prepare basic operational documentation. * Provide administrative support required for day-to-day business operations. Qualifications * Fluent in English and Spanish is required. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional phone presence. * Highly organized with strong follow-up and note-taking habits. * Experience with CRM or lead-management tools (Monday.com is a plus). * Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment. * Comfortable with high-volume outreach (calls, messages, follow-ups). * Experience in sales, customer service, hospitality, SaaS, POS, or payment processing is a plus. * Ideal for candidates with some sales or customer-facing experience. Compensation & KPI Structure Role Type: In-Office SDR / Appointment Setter (Early-funnel only - books appointments for Sales Representatives) Primary KPI: Qualified Appointments Booked Compensation: * Base salary: $42,000 - $48,000 annually * Commission paid monthly with no cap Commission Structure: * $25 per qualified appointment booked * $100 per merchant closed originating from their appointment Expected Earnings: $58,000 - $72,000 annually, with high performers earning $75,000+ based on volume and close rates Position Summary (Short Form) An in-office, early-funnel sales role focused on outbound calling, lead qualification, CRM management, and booking high-quality appointments for Sales Representatives. The role also includes limited operational and administrative support typical of a small-business environment.
