Full description of the position

Summary Stargazer is a manufacturer and e-commerce retailer of cast iron cookware founded in 2015. We are a small, dedicated team of cast iron enthusiasts looking to grow our brand, launch new products and reach wider audiences. The Director of Sales & Marketing (DSM) holds the ultimate responsibility for Stargazer's marketing and sales activities and oversees the development and delivery of a comprehensive marketing strategy for the business. This strategy should include optimizing the efficiency of existing revenue sources alongside finding new sales opportunities. The DSM will lead initiatives that directly increase revenue and expand market share. This role will be central to the company's expansion from a single DTC brand to a multi-channel, multi-brand business. The DSM will participate in the launch of these new brands, with a plan for strategic targeting and maintaining brand consistency throughout the portfolio. The role will focus on customer acquisition and channel-specific marketing with the pointed goal of driving sales. The ideal candidate should be data and results-driven, while finding creative solutions to overcome limited resources -- bootstrapping will be expected. This position will require managing the Marketing Campaign Manager internally as well as relevant third party contractors. The DSM will report directly to the CEO and work closely with him to execute his vision for the future of the Stargazer, while building on the brand reputation earned through 10 years in business. Responsibilities * Develop and implement a sales and marketing strategy. Drive revenue by customizing programs for each product, brand and distribution channel. Oversee all campaigns, events, digital/social marketing, and press. * Tailor marketing efforts to each brand in the portfolio to ensure relevant customer targeting. Minimize brand overlap, in messaging and channel selection, to maximize market coverage. * Develop a strategy for wholesale distribution with a system of organizing leads. Attend sales meetings as needed. Communicate with the Operations Manager about production volume and lead times for fulfillment. * Manage and align efforts with the Amazon contractor. Monitor ad spend and facilitate shared use of creative assets. * Create and oversee a marketing calendar in coordination with the Marketing Campaign Manager. Ensure alignment of messaging across communication channels. * Provide forecasts and reports by market analysis and interpretation of data in Google analytics and social media metrics. Communicate relevant information to the team and update efforts accordingly. * Optimize marketing programs with the philosophy of continuous improvement: test, analyze, adjust as needed. * Seek out, manage, and nurture exposure opportunities with press outlets, influencers and brand partnerships. * Participate in product development efforts by evaluating market trends and customer feedback and making recommendations accordingly. * Achieve financial objectives by managing an annual marketing budget. * Maintain relations with customers and followers through strategic campaigns. Build out the email/SMS subscriber communication flow. * Determine and fulfill company presence at relevant events such as trade shows and conventions. Requirements * Bachelor's degree with a preference for study in sales, marketing, advertising or business management. * Proven work experience as a Marketing Director, Marketing Manager, or similar role. * Has developed or contributed to direct marketing, digital/social advertising, SEO/SEM initiatives. * Experience in project management and/or sales forecasting and reporting. * Solid computer skills including Google business suite. * The ability to work with and manage a small team. * Flexibility; someone who is comfortable wearing many hats and trying new things. * Self-starter; someone who will generate ideas and be able to execute them. * Strong communication skills. * Must be eligible for employment in the United States. * Stargazer is located in Allentown, PA but remote/hybrid arrangements are available.
