Outside Sales Representative Job Description The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business by securing a minimum of two new clients per week, maintaining strong relationships with decision-makers, and promoting Express Employment Professionals' full range of staffing and placement services. This role requires proactive sales activity, territory management, and collaboration with internal teams to meet client needs and achieve sales goals. It will include using consultative sales techniques as they persistently make sales contacts; strong phone and interpersonal skills are essential. The Sales Rep must also effectively document all activities in the automated system in compliance with the office documentation standards. Outside Sales Representative Job Responsibilities Generate sufficient sales activity to secure a minimum of two new clients per week. o Effectively meet with decision-makers to assess needs and secure accounts. o Make a combination of 100 sales calls weekly (including phone and in-person visits), which include 60 face-to-face decision-maker calls. o Properly document 100% of calls in the automated system and set a next action step to keep prospects/clients in the sales pipeline. Develop a Sales Action Plan for each prospect on the Top 20 Hit List. o Develop a quarterly sales plan identifying potential new clients and business opportunities. o Take the lead in coordinating ongoing sales activities for Top 20 Hit List prospects. o Research accounts, establish meetings, and coordinate presentations as needed, focusing on prospect's needs. Prepare and execute a daily sales plan to maximize territory management. o Use the automated system to prepare a daily sales plan identifying companies and offices to visit. o Introduce Express through discovery, planned, appointment, and telephone calls. o Maximize sales efficiency by properly using account classification and territory management systems. o Classify prospects and set the appropriate call frequency based on potential business. Use a Total Client Care sales approach to present full service capabilities. o Identify and follow up regularly with key accounts and develop unique value- added sales opportunities (i.e. Express knowledge-based campaigns, MPC calls with the Employment Specialist, invitations to client learning opportunities). o Sell all product and service lines. o Deliver the Client Care Packet to all new clients. o Maintain a thorough knowledge of the staffing and placement services offered by Express as well as pricing techniques and strategies. Effectively work and communicate with internal team. o Meet with the Inside Sales team daily to ensure sales and recruiting are in sync and clients' needs are being met. Conduct business in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational guidelines. o Maintain working knowledge of federal/state/regional employment laws and regulations. o Adhere to all Express systems and policies. Commit to meeting regularly with Team Leader and/or Franchisee for continued development. o Learn and use Situational Leadership language in meetings. o Prepare reports and provide metrics/activity levels to Team Leader and/or Franchisee prior to scheduled meetings. o Commit to a quarterly Individual Development Plan (IDP). Other related duties as necessary and assigned. Outside Sales Representative Qualifications Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to flex communication approach based on audience. Ability to manage a high volume of calls and in-person visits. Goal-oriented with proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets. Business acumen and ability to see the "big picture." Identify client needs and provide solutions with a consultative selling mindset. Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office products. Willingness to learn various technological platforms. Commitment to integrity, authenticity, and giving/receiving feedback in a healthy and effective manner. Shows compassion for others - internal team members, job seekers/associates, and clients; strives to represent the Express Employment Professionals brand in a positive and uplifting manner. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Education and Experience GED or High School Diploma required; college degree preferred. Previous experience in sales or business development. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software. Knowledge of staffing industry and employment laws is a plus.
