Penmac Staffing is recruiting a Technical Service and Application Specialist in Spartanburg, SC, for a direct hire opportunity with a world class company! Salary will range from $110,000 to $130,000 annually. The. Technical Service and Application Specialist is responsible for technical support of customers with existing products and applications, as well as developments in support of strategic and overall company objectives. Candidates are expected to be hands-on in driving customer and application development-related efforts. Responsibilities / Job Requirements: * Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned customers, offering expert guidance and recommending optimal product solutions. * Support customers in material processing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues or complaints. * Gather and share technical market insights, identifying new application opportunities and business prospects in collaboration with Sales and Marketing. * Independently develop new applications for existing or new products, working closely with internal and external stakeholders. * Maintain and enhance the technical database for the product portfolio. * Create and update technical documentation, including processing guidelines and application notes. * Contribute to product development projects, supporting innovation and continuous improvement. Education / Experience / Skills: * Bachelors or advanced degree in a technical or scientific discipline, preferably in Engineering or Chemistry, with a focus on plastics processing. * Several years of hands-on experience in the plastics industry, ideally with PET processing. * Proven experience in customer-facing roles and application development. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret material testing and analytical data. * Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external partners. * Strategic thinker with a solution-oriented mindset and a passion for innovation. * Excellent project and time management skills to meet customer and internal deadlines. * Open to continuous learning and adapting to new technologies and market demands. * Proficient in using digital tools to support technical inquiries and data analysis. * Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. * Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and international teams. * Willingness to travel up to 30%.
