What You 'll Do Cashiering & Customer Service * Complete all retail transactions accurately and efficiently at the POS counter * Package merchandise with care and assist customers with carryouts * Support incoming call volume alongside our Receptionist * Keep the POS area clean, organized, and welcoming Merchandising & Displays * Receive, price, and beautifully display merchandise throughout the retail center * Ensure all products are clearly tagged and properly signed * Refresh inventory to maintain a full, vibrant, and inviting sales floor * Create eyecatching displays using both product and plant material * Monitor inventory levels and stay familiar with sales trends * Maintain a clean, organized retail environment * Communicate inventory needs, dumpage, and repair requests to the Retail Team Leader Sales & Guest Experience * Greet customers warmly and guide them based on their needs * Answer questions and share product knowledge * Stay familiar with current inventory and seasonal offerings * Build foundational knowledge of nursery stock, annuals, perennials, and houseplants * Direct customer concerns to the appropriate Team Leader or Garden Center Manager * Issue guarantees according to company policy * Assist with opening and closing procedures What You Bring * Experience in the green industry is a plus * High school diploma or equivalent required * Pesticide Applicator License is beneficial * A friendly, curious, and customerfocused mindset * Willingness to learn and grow your plant knowledge Work Environment & Physical Requirements Our garden center is a dynamic, handson environment. You should be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all types of weather--sun, rain, heat, cold, and wind. Peak seasons may require extended hours, and weekend availability is essential. This role involves: * Frequent standing and physical activity (bending, stretching, pushing, pulling) * Regular lifting of up to 20 pounds unassisted * A flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, and weekends Compensation Hourly wages are based on experience.
