Full description of the position
YOTEL New York is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Group Sales Manager to join our team. The Senior Group Sales Manager leads the hotel's group sales strategy with a focus on securing high-value group business across corporate, association, incentive, and leisure markets. This role is responsible for achieving revenue targets, building long-term client relationships. As a senior team member, the position requires strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to drive results while ensuring alignment with brand standards and service excellence. Key Responsibilities: * Develop and implement sales plans to maximize group room nights revenue. * Lead client development initiatives through direct sales calls, trade shows, roadshows, and networking. * Negotiate and finalize group contracts, ensuring profitability and risk mitigation. * Manage key accounts and establish partnerships with corporate, association, leasure, and incentive travel clients. * Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and business performance to adjust strategies. * Maintain accurate forecasts, pipeline reports, and data. * Represent the hotel at industry events, trade fairs, and sales missions both locally and internationally. Qualifications & Skills: * Bachelor's degree in hospitality or business management, or equivalent experience. * Minimum 5 years of progressive hotel sales experience, with proven success in group sales. * Strong background in corporate, association, leisure and incentive group markets. * Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex contracts and achieve revenue goals. * Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship management skills. * Ability to coach and support a sales team. * Strong analytical, organizational, and presentation abilities. * Proficiency in sales software, OPERA systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. * Willingness to travel for client visits and industry events. Performance Metrics: * Achievement of group sales revenue and room night targets. * Growth and retention of key group accounts. * Positive feedback and repeat business from clients. * Contribution to team development and mentoring initiatives.
