Overview

ZenTech Consulting is partnering with a leading rail-focused logistics organization to identify a Sales Director - Rail Transloading & Logistics. This executive-level role is responsible for driving commercial growth across rail transloading, carload and intermodal rail services, port-adjacent logistics, warehousing, and integrated multimodal solutions. This position requires a senior sales leader with deep experience in railroad-dependent logistics , strong relationships across Class I and short line railroads , and a proven ability to sell complex, asset-based logistics solutions. The Sales Director will play a key role in expanding market presence throughout Florida and supporting national and international supply chains. Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial Strategy & Rail Market Leadership

  • Develop and execute a rail-focused commercial strategy to grow revenue across transloading, carload rail, intermodal, bulk, and warehouse-supported logistics.
  • Position the organization as a preferred rail-served logistics partner for shippers, producers, importers, and exporters.
  • Identify and pursue high-volume rail opportunities involving bulk commodities, building materials, metals, agricultural products, chemicals, and containerized freight.
  • Support new rail-served terminal development, facility expansions, and market entry strategies. Rail Transloading & Logistics Sales
  • Sell integrated logistics solutions combining rail, truck, port operations, warehousing, cross-dock, and value-added services.
  • Design customer-specific rail transloading programs focused on cost reduction, efficiency, and supply chain resilience.
  • Negotiate long-term agreements, multi-lane programs, and strategic rail capacity commitments.
  • Partner closely with Operations to ensure commercial commitments align with yard capacity, service levels, and execution capabilities. Railroad & Industry Relationships
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with Class I railroads, regional and short line carriers, port authorities, and terminal operators.
  • Represent the organization in railroad negotiations, joint marketing initiatives, and strategic partnerships.
  • Monitor rail market trends, service changes, tariffs, and regulatory developments impacting transloading and carload freight. Sales Leadership & Business Development
  • Lead and mentor a Business Development team focused on rail and transloading services.
  • Drive disciplined pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM utilization.
  • Personally engage in high-value pursuits, complex negotiations, and executive-level customer relationships. Market Expansion & Strategic Growth
  • Identify new rail-served markets and geographic growth opportunities.
  • Support strategic initiatives including partnerships, joint ventures, or acquisitions tied to rail infrastructure.
  • Represent the organization at railroad conferences, logistics trade shows, and industry events. QualificationsExperience
  • 12+ years of progressive sales experience in rail logistics, transloading, intermodal, or industrial transportation.
  • Proven success selling rail-centric logistics solutions in asset-based or terminal-driven environments.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with Class I railroads and rail-served customers. Industry & Technical Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of rail operations, transload economics, tariffs, accessorials, and rail-served site development.
  • Knowledge of port logistics, containerized freight, drayage, and intermodal supply chains.
  • Ability to translate complex logistics capabilities into clear, value-driven customer solutions. Leadership & Communication
  • Executive-level communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic mindset with strong commercial and financial acumen.
