Director of Business Development - Bulk Material Handling & Storage This position offers full benefits, job stability, a great work/life balance. Overnight travel is going to be about 50% tops, mostly 1-2 day trips. Location: Remote (Domestic U.S.) Industry: Industrial Construction / Ag-Industrial Additional: 100% Employee-Owned Engineering & Construction Firm Position Overview Our client is an established industrial design-build firm specializing in the engineering and construction of bulk material handling, storage, and processing facilities. They are currently seeking a Director of Business Development to lead project acquisition and client relationship management within the Feed, Grain, and Industrial Bulk Solids sectors. This role is responsible for identifying multi-million dollar capital project opportunities and managing the pursuit process from initial lead through project kickoff. Core Responsibilities * Identify and develop new business opportunities with new and existing customers in core industrial markets. * Manage high-level relationships with corporate stakeholders and facility managers, including regular site visits. * Navigate the full RFP/RFQ process, working with in-house engineering and estimating teams to develop technical proposals. * Lead "Win Strategy" and cost review meetings to ensure proposals meet client throughput and budget requirements. * Maintain engagement with vendors and subcontractors to identify mutual project opportunities. * Manage the firm's participation in industry trade shows and associations (AFIA, NTF, NCC, GEAPS, etc.). * Coordinate company marketing initiatives, including website content and industry news releases. Preferred Qualifications * Experience: Minimum of 10 years in business development or technical sales within the industrial construction sector. * Technical Knowledge: Proven understanding of conveying systems, material storage, facility layout, and feed manufacturing/process equipment. * Project Expertise: Experience managing the sales cycle for large-scale design-build or millwright projects. * Sector Background: Specific experience in the feed manufacturing and grain industries is highly preferred. * Travel: Ability to travel approximately 50% to client sites and corporate locations. * Education: BS in Engineering, Construction Management, Ag-Business, or a related field. Professional Attributes * Strong negotiation skills and experience navigating complex industrial contracts. * Ability to work autonomously from a home office while maintaining high activity levels. * Proficiency in CRM/sales management software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
