Retail Showroom + Outside Sales Location: Santa Barbara, CA Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Showroom Manager / Director of Sales Role Overview The Flooring Manager is responsible for driving flooring sales both in the showroom and through outside sales, while managing each project from initial client contact through final installation and close-out. This is a salary + commission position designed for a sales-driven professional who can own the full flooring category and manage projects start to finish. This role combines consultative selling, relationship building, and project execution , with direct accountability for revenue, customer experience, and successful project delivery. Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Revenue Generation * Generate flooring sales through showroom traffic, inbound leads, referrals, and outside sales. * Build and maintain relationships with builders, contractors, designers, architects, and homeowners. * Conduct site visits, measurements, and flooring consultations. * Present flooring options, pricing, timelines, and installation processes clearly and confidently. * Prepare and present proposals aligned with company pricing and margin guidelines. * Close sales, secure deposits, and drive projects to completion. Project Ownership (Start to Finish) * Own flooring projects from sale through final installation and close-out. * Coordinate measurements, ordering, delivery, and installation scheduling. * Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project. * Manage expectations around timelines, scope, and product availability. * Resolve issues proactively to ensure customer satisfaction. * Ensure final payments are collected upon project completion. Showroom & Product Leadership * Maintain flooring displays, samples, and showroom presentation. * Stay up to date on all flooring product lines, materials, and installation requirements. * Work closely with vendors and manufacturers on pricing, lead times, and availability. * Support and educate showroom staff on flooring products and sales processes. Operations & Administration * Accurately process orders, purchase orders, and job documentation. * Track project progress, margins, and change orders. * Coordinate with logistics, installation, and operations teams. * Maintain accurate client and project records in CRM and project management systems. Qualifications * 3+ years of experience in flooring sales (retail showroom and/or outside sales). * Proven experience managing flooring projects from sale to completion. * Strong knowledge of flooring products and installation processes. * Confident closer with a customer-focused approach. * Highly organized with strong communication and follow-up skills. * Comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects. * Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.
