Role: HME Specialist Location: Travel between AHN Hospitals (AGH, West Penn, Forbes, Wexford, Canonsburg, Jefferson, AVH) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Process referrals, obtain authorization, documentation, and physician orders to support dispensing criteria, and take the necessary steps to obtain missing documentation. * Provide clear instructions to patients and caregivers to ensure understanding of the equipment. * Comply with all hazardous and infection control procedures and proper PPE. * Presents a positive image of AHN HME through professional appearance and behavior. * Verify benefits to ensure coverage and correct setup with the system and communicate to the customer. * Educate customers on the proper use of equipment, complete training confirmation documents, and the equipment distribution, including but not limited to orthotics, compression, bent metal, and oxygen. * Capture and maintain business services with facilities and explore potential growth and sale opportunities. * Ensure proper fit and demonstrate knowledge of orthopedic devices through accurate measurement, fitting, and removal of appliances. * Maintain and complete quarterly on-site inventory and collaborate with the sales team. * Document and maintain a tracking system for all work completed to reflect efforts and weekly referral volumes. * Weekend on-call and Holiday coverage as needed.
