Luxury Floral Design Manager - Full-Time; Long Island City, NY This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer Job Responsibilities: * Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of Floral Designers through mentorship, ongoing coaching, and clear, timely feedback; foster a positive, inspiring, and accountable Studio culture. * Set, communicate, and uphold Winston Flowers design standards; regularly review work on the floor and at installations to ensure brand fit, quality, and margin targets are met. * Conceptualize and execute high-level design projects and installations, using innovative combinations of color, floral materials, vessels, and accents while meeting established COGS and aesthetic guidelines. * In partnership with the Operations Manager, oversee daily workflow and allocation of design work; help prioritize and adjust assignments in response to last-minute changes, rush orders, and event demands. * Along with the Operations Manager, ensure proper systems, best practices, safety, housekeeping, and company culture are consistently upheld in the Studio and on client sites. * Manage floral product needs for the studio, including forecasting and ordering; building and maintaining strong relationships with key vendors, negotiating pricing and terms where appropriate, and monitoring product quality and availability. * Responsible for meeting budgets for payroll and cost of goods; manage floral product needs and provide structured feedback on what is and isn't working (flowers, containers, price points). * Develop and maintain a structured onboarding and training approach for new and existing designers, documenting best practices and supporting ongoing skill development. * In collaboration with Sales and Events teams, participate in key client consultations and walk-throughs as the design lead; use a consultative approach to create customized product presentations and translate design vision to the team for execution. * Lead the execution and setup of installations and events, modeling professionalism and five-star client service at all times. * Evaluate potential new design talent, provide feedback on candidates, and assist in hiring decisions as needed. Candidate Attributes: * Significant hands-on high-end floral design experience in a high-volume studio or retail environment is required * Previous success in driving business and building teams, with a proven ability to efficiently and professionally meet and exceed client needs * Demonstrated ability to achieve established goals and deliver on high expectations, with exceptional follow-through and time management skills * Ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities simultaneously and resolve issues independently in a fast-paced environment * Strong interpersonal skills, with a high level of enthusiasm and self-motivation * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required Other: * Full-time position, core schedule is 5 days per week, Monday-Saturday with flexibility required to meet business needs * Peak business periods will require extended work days and work weeks Job Type: Full-time Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Employee discount * Flexible spending account * Health insurance * Health savings account * Paid time off * Parental leave * Referral program * Vision insurance Work Location: In person
