Architectural Sales Representative Overview: Soil Retention Products, Inc. is seeking an Architectural Sales / Dealer Rep position to support southwestern sales efforts and grow untapped markets. The position will be based out of Carlsbad, CA. Territory is Southern California. Qualifications: * 5+ years of technical or construction work experience in the hardscape industry (pavers and retaining walls) * Position requires individual to have strong interpersonal skills, be able to take initiative and be disciplined to work independently * Ability to perform presentations to dealers, contractors and design professionals. * Ability to read and interpret landscape construction plans. Grading plan comprehension preferred. * Ability to answer technical questions to designers & contractors. * Learn installation per application in order to properly guide designers and contractors. * Competitive and achievement-oriented; self-motivated and a self-starter; can work independently within a structure and manage time wisely; good listener and able to process complex information and unique client needs quickly * Proficient in Microsoft office including Powerpoint, CRM (Sales Force) * Team Player Responsibilities: This position is to grow our specifications and contractor data base and includes business development in special markets. * Visit architects, commercial landscape contractors, select residential paving contactors, and some municipalities (fire depts, cities, agencies) * Educate existing and new dealers and be main point of contact outside office * Attend industry events, trade shows, and functions * Evaluate Existing and Potential small to mid-size paver and retaining wall contractors. * Educate designers and contractors on product specific construction details and techniques relevant to our products. * Keep database up to date. * Help maintain contractor referral list. * Seek sales through construct connect of similar products and work through the substitution process.
