Position Overview As a Business Development Assistant, you will play a crucial role in identifying new business opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and contributing to the overall success of our company. You will work closely with our sales and operations teams to bring in new clients and help expand our market presence. This full-time position is located at our office in Silver Spring, MD with anticipated working hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, and reports to the Business Development Manager. Key Responsibilities * Market Research: Conduct research to identify potential clients and market opportunities within the commercial landscaping industry. * Lead Generation: Generate and qualify leads through various channels, including networking, online research, and business to business outreach. * Proposal Development: Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and service packages tailored to meet client needs and budget. * Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business. * Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to support deal closures and ensure smooth transitions from lead generation to project execution. * Reporting: Track and report on business development activities, client interactions, and progress toward sales goals. Skills/Qualifications * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Ability to learn Aspire - our industry specific business management software * Sales Acumen: Basic understanding of sales strategies, particularly in service-based industries. * Networking: Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients and industry stakeholders. * Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. * Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and industry developments * Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to be insured by company insurance carrier Education and Experience This role is perfect for recent graduates with a degree in business, marketing, or a related field. Previous Experience in customer service, hospitality, or retail is encouraged to apply!P revious experience or internships in business development, sales, or the landscaping industry is helpful but not required. Physical Requirements Employee will work in both an office and field environment, travel from site to site in various weather conditions; including rain, snow, sun, extreme heat, or cold. Employee could be required to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
