Role Overview This is a consultative, full-cycle role for an experienced residential landscape professional. Homeowners reach out to Greenway through phone calls, referrals, and website inquiries. Our internal admin team completes the initial intake and assigns the opportunity to you. You will respond quickly, lead the onsite consultation, capture the full scope with measurements, deliver an accurate estimate within 7 business days , and then stay engaged through construction to ensure the project is delivered the way it was sold--through strong communication, site visits, and a professional closeout process. What You 'll Do * Contact assigned leads within 24 hours to schedule an onsite consultation * Run confident, professional on-site consultations with homeowners: * Introduce Greenway and set expectations for the process * Clarify goals, priorities, and scope * Provide informed recommendations on materials and project direction * Perform detailed property measurements and scope capture , including square footage, linear footage, and installation notes for the full requested scope (hardscape, softscape, xeriscape, drainage, irrigation impacts, lighting, planting, ground cover, etc.) * Deliver a clear, accurate installation estimate within 7 business days after the consultation * Coordinate bids from Greenway-approved subcontractors for applicable portions of the work * Schedule and lead a pre-construction walk (typically ~2 weeks prior to start): * Introduce the homeowner to the foreman * Confirm scope, site logistics, schedule expectations, and alignment across all parties * Provide ongoing project oversight from signed contract through completion (not physical construction, but ensuring execution matches what was sold): * Maintain proactive homeowner communication and expectations * Conduct periodic on-site visits to confirm progress and alignment * Collect progress payments according to the project schedule * Coordinate internally and help resolve issues quickly and professionally * Close out projects with care and clarity: * Lead punch list walks and confirm completion of all items * Conduct the final walk-through , secure sign-off, and collect final payment * Maintain clean documentation in the CRM / internal systems (notes, photos, scope updates, next steps) What We 're Looking For (Required) * Minimum 3+ years of experience selling residential landscape renovations/installations * Experience specifically in San Diego 's residential or high-end residential market * Comfortable defining a homeowner's scope of work and discussing: * Hardscape (pavers, concrete, retaining walls, patios, walkways) * Softscape (planting concepts, plant selection considerations, ground cover) * Xeriscape / low-water landscapes * Landscape lighting * Irrigation (spray/drip concepts and scope impacts) * Drainage (surface drainage concepts, downspout tie-ins, runoff management) * Strong consultative sales skills: confident, clear communicator who can guide homeowners through decisions * Organized and deadline-driven--especially the 7-business-day proposal/estimate expectation * Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for jobsite visits Ideal Candidate Traits * You build trust quickly and communicate clearly * You can walk a property and confidently define the full scope * You enjoy accuracy, follow-through, and a strong client experience * You take ownership--internally aligned, externally professional Compensation & Performance * Pay Structure: This position is commission-driven , with an hourly draw to provide consistent pay while you build your pipeline. * Hourly Draw: $20/hour , paid biweekly , and applied against future earned commissions. (the draw applies until earned commissions exceed it.) * Commission: Earned on closed project sales and based on project performance (typically 5% -10%, with additional upside for strong margin performance). * Initial Annual Sales Target: $750,000 in gross sold work. * Performance Bonuses: Additional bonuses may be earned for exceeding annual sales thresholds. * California Compliance: Commission compensation and the hourly draw are administered under a written commission agreement and structured to comply with applicable California wage and commission requirements for a commissioned salesperson. Vehicle & Travel * This role uses your personal vehicle for site visits * Greenway provides vehicle magnets and offers reimbursement for eligible business travel expenses incurred while performing the job 90-Day Success Plan & Support We set our consultants up to win with a structured onboarding and review cadence: a 30-day check-in , 60-day progress review , and a formal 90-day evaluation to ensure expectations are clear, support is in place, and you're on track with lead response, consultations, proposal accuracy, and client communication.
