Are you an organized and driven sales professional, looking for a team that is passionate about hospitality? We Want You! Position : Catering Sales Manager Purpose: To meet or exceed the monthly and annual budget objectives for catering revenue. Scope : Within the limits of corporate policies and approved budgets and in line with Roedel Companies management philosophy, the Catering Sales Manager of this Full-Service Hotel has the responsibility to meet or exceed the performance standard objectives of each key result area. This position is responsible for fostering productive relationships with clients to ensure repeat business. Reports To: Director of Sales Responsibilities: * Follow established sales procedures, which ensure maximum efficiency for your team, and which minimize duplication of efforts. * Contribute ideas for the annual marketing plan and budget for the hotel and measure the results of any promotions. Ensure all expenses are controlled within the budget and all projects are completed on time and within the pre-approved budget plan. * Collaboration with the marketing team to align promotions, event themes, and campaigns that can drive catering sales. This can help ensure synergy between departments. * Use the approved Banquet Menus - which drive Banquet/Catering Sales, re-enforce the hotel Food and Beverage concept, increase top line revenue and through price point drive top line revenue to the free cash flow line. * Serve on the Revenue production team, contributing ideas and thoughts on how to improve performance. * Ensure your work area is well maintained and remains clean and organized. * Ensure that all information given to guests is accurate and presented in a professional manner (i.e.: directions, area information, Sales Kits etc.) * Ensure use of Delphi FDC system to track leads, follow up with potential clients, and manage relationships with existing clients. This aligns with modern sales practices and ensures that all touchpoints are tracked and optimized. * Work with the Food and Beverage management team to ensure that the product being delivered exceeds our guests' expectations. * Stay up to date on current trends in the industry and market to ensure that we are delivering what our guests are looking for. * To be a member of the hotel guest service team and assist with managing service recovery and affecting guest service scores. * Operate with a sense of urgency and discipline when handling guest complaints and concerns, ensuring 100% satisfaction before departure. * Follow established processes for keeping in regular contact with the hotel's regular clients. * Follow the processes within the sales office which ensure that we deliver superior customer service and quality every day, resulting in Overall Service scores exceeding 85%. * Execute the Operations aspect of business booked, generating proposals, submission of RFP's, writing contracts, customer correspondence, creating detailed BEO's and completion of contracted business. * Submit all marketing copies for approval by the Director of Sales prior to submission for print and production. * Ensure you are using all the Sales tools at your disposal to maximize the revenue opportunity for the hotel. * Stay current with any sales training certification requirements, sales tracking and reporting, as required by the Director of Sales. * Always Look out for the hotels' interest; ensuring that hotel services are used by registered guests only and report suspicious activity immediately. * Seek out opportunities to invest resources in the communities we serve by looking for local projects and initiatives that we can participate in. * Participate when opportunities arise to volunteer on community projects that our company supports as we invest resources in the communities we serve. * We are a performance driven company that excels at meeting our objectives. Exceed the Catering revenue targets for the hotel by month and year to date. * Assist in developing a key account and marketing program and implement all components of the plan to maximize the performance of the hotel. * Proactively develop and manage accounts using the established process for identifying, soliciting, and closing on new business to ensure weekly, monthly and annual targets are achieved. * Sell and implement Catering promotions. * Find avenues of additional revenue streams and develop them into sellable formats. * Participate as part of a cohesive team, working toward a unified goal. * Maintain a close working relationship with other associates to ensure that communication lines stay open to best serve our guests, especially the banquet, and F&B operation teams * Listen to and act on your manager's feedback regarding your performance; ask relevant questions and seek training opportunities as needed because we succeed through professional development and teamwork. * Hold and lead weekly BEO meetings. * Maintain a close working relationship with all department heads to ensure that communication lines stay open to best serve our guests. * Provide team members with the support they need to perform their jobs effectively. * Participate in our Employee of the Quarter and Year processes where we recognize excellence and celebrate success. * Be proficient in the sales process, the revenue management systems and all technical systems to track and monitor account performance. * Ensure that all information in the system is accurate to facilitate the DOS's generation of the Catering Sales Budget and ability to track progress through monthly reporting on the Marketing Plan for the year. * Analyzing client feedback and conducting post-event reviews can help identify areas of improvement and opportunities to enhance service quality, ensuring a focus on continuous improvement. * Performs other duties, projects, or responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and organizational success. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, business demands may require flexibility to assist in other areas of the hotel. Tasks may evolve or change as needed, and employees are expected to perform them with a team-oriented attitude. Education & Experience: * The ability to perform each task and duty in a satisfactory and timely manner. * Possess the qualifications; and provide backup references of sales success in the Catering department for a Full-Service Hotel. * Verifiable strong background in Food and Beverage with both Retail Restaurant outlets and Banquets/ Catering experience. * Must have a verifiable record of strong community active involvement. * Thorough knowledge of the Market, its critical market drivers, assets and challenges. * Requirements include a minimum of 2 years in a Full-Service Hotel, as a Catering Manager. Skills : * Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business, technical procedures, company journals and government regulations. * Ability to write reports and procedural manuals. Effectively deliver all required information to managers and coworkers. * Typing Skills * Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook * Working Knowledge and use of POS, PMS systems and Delphi FDC Physical demands and work environment : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
