Full description of the position
Position Summary Responsible for the direct sales efforts of identified market segments. Functions include direct sales, prospecting, exhibiting, acting as a liaison with clinical and follow up issues regarding assigned accounts (referral sources), assisting in the coordination of identified community educational activities. Initiates strategies to increase account development and product line awareness. Responsible for the increase account development and product line awareness. Provides professional local support to multi-program facility through recommendations, implementation and maintenance of programs established for the achievement of defined marketing, community relations Qualifications Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or demonstrated knowledge of mental health treatment services. Experience: Minimum of two years' experience in the mental health or substance abuse or medical field in direct client services of marketing and sales preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of chemical dependency and/or health treatment services. Must be able to function independently and communicate effectively with staff and external contacts. License: n/a Additional Requirements: This exempt, professional position generally requires working weekdays, however, the hours, days, evenings or weekend work may vary according to hospital needs, events or travel. Position requires travel away from the facility a significant amount of time. Travel may include land and air transportation and overnight accommodations. Requires equipment and supplies; access to clerical support. A laptop and cellular phone are provided. Provides quality service and care coordination to patients, visitors and referral sources. Maintains a responsive, cooperative, and pleasant attitude with fellow employees. Conducts self in the work setting with the utmost respect and patience for the above groups and contributes to a productive work environment with communication as a key focus. Adheres to the confidentiality standards of the facility. Develops and maintains a census as determined by annual marketing plan. Conducts sales calls on a scheduled basis, provide follow up assessment of customer's satisfaction with the Center's services, conducts admission and discharge referral source contacts, and documents sales activities on a monthly basis. Conducts educational events for specified accounts and other agencies and organizations in effort to prospect for new business, conduct follow up leads from educational events. Position may involve prolonged standing with frequent bending, stooping and reaching over the head. Position will involve prolonged driving. Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 lbs. Must be free of infectious disease. Sufficient emotional maturity to accept adverse comments and criticism while working and responding in a positive manner. Attends Staff meetings or treatment team meeting when at the facility, maintains written correspondence with accounts, prospects for business, assists with exhibits where appropriate, assist case managers in obtaining community-based referrals to meet client needs. Responsible for the development of a mailing list that is categorically differentiated and current. Responsible for the implementation of monthly reporting data. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Actively pursue the development of referral network for the continued census development of the treatment center. This network will include, but not be limited to, Primary Care Physicians, Licensed Therapists, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), Treatment Facilities, Intensive Outpatient Service Providers. Contact with identified referral sources maintained on a routine and consistent basis by means approved by Director. These include, but are not limited to, correspondence, telecommunication, conference exhibits and site visits. Networks with referral sources, both current and potential, through conferences on a routine basis or as assigned. Responsible for coordination and scheduling of conference attendance. Coordinate referral development and follow-up activities on a scheduled basis. Provide follow up assessment of customer's satisfaction with the facility's services, as requested. Develop marketing materials, literature and media advertisements. Responsible for the distribution of marketing materials to the general public and potential referral sources. Works closely with therapists/case managers in obtaining community-based referrals to meet the aftercare needs of discharging patients. Maintain a current index (mailing list) of people who refer to the Hospital. Communicates with the treatment team as often as necessary to provide for an accurate/necessary flow of information between clinical team and referral source, as pertains to patient's continuity of care. Conduct sales calls on a scheduled basis, provide follow up assessment of customer's satisfaction with the facility's services. Document referral development activities on a monthly basis or as requested by the Director Business Development. Work with the Director of Business Development to develop and implement business and marketing plan for the facility. Prepare and present reports as directed. Coordinate and maintain a current mailing list of all former facility patients. Coordinate and contribute to the publication of newsletter as needed. Review available conferences and coordinate staff involvement/attendance. Coordinate and contribute to advertising promotion to include Yellow Pages; print ads and internet. Investigates and pursues membership or involvement in professional organizations and networking activities with potential to increase an awareness of the services of the treatment center. Prospect for opportunities to promote our clinical staff for speaking events which will increase an awareness of the professionalism of our clinical staff and the services offered by our facility. Coordinate and/or conduct speaking/training opportunities for our staff within the realm of professional expertise. Prospect for new business on an on-going and consistent basis as directed and approved by the CEO. Participates in referral development activities as assigned and makes a professional and positive impression on referral sources. Maintain an excellent attendance record and sufficient good health to maintain continuity of services to patient care and hospital operation When requested or indicated, can be relied upon to adjust personal schedule to complete position responsibilities 3 Always appears well-groomed and maintains professional appearance; wears facility identification while on duty. As requested, assists in development of manuals, brochures, guidelines, job descriptions, records, narratives and other materials for program and facility. Assists in orientation and skill development of staff as assigned through in- service educator impromptu on the job training, which are documented. Consults with and keeps immediate supervisor informed of activities, problems and issues; attends staff meetings and conferences. Ability to sit and stand (at least two-thirds of the shift) and walk (possibly one-third of the shift). 2. Ability to reach above, or below waist height, kneel, bend, stoop, turn, and twist (occasionally to frequently). 3. Visual ability to read treatment plans, financial documents, computer screen and typewritten materials. 4. Ability to frequently push/pull wheeled carts to 100 pounds. 5. Ability to frequently lift and carry 10 lbs.; occasionally 20 to 50 lbs. 6. Ability to work in an environment where chemicals are frequently used for cleaning, where medical and electrical hazards may be present and where dust, mist and steam are frequently generated in housekeeping tasks. 7.
