Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in optical services, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and support. As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in assisting patients with their eyewear needs, ensuring they receive the best possible service while adhering to industry standards and regulations. Duties * Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their needs and preferences. * Conduct fittings and adjustments for glasses to ensure proper fit and comfort. * Maintain knowledge of current optical trends and products to provide informed recommendations. * Utilize EMR systems for managing patient records and appointments. * Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations in handling patient information. * Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. * Perform laboratory tasks related to eyewear production as needed. * Provide education to patients regarding eyewear maintenance and care. * Handle retail sales transactions efficiently, including processing payments and managing inventory. * Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following aseptic techniques when necessary. Requirements * Previous experience in an optical setting or related field is preferred. * Knowledge of optometry/ophthalmology, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential. * Familiarity with retail sales practices, including retail math and management skills. * Experience with medical billing, coding, and maintaining medical records is advantageous. * Ability to work effectively in a clinic environment with pediatric patients as well as senior care populations. * Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members. * Proficiency in using computers and EMR systems * A commitment to providing high-quality patient care while adhering to industry standards.
