Top Rail Fence Charlottesville is a locally owned and operated fence installation company located in Charlottesville, VA. We have various local and national partnerships, including home builders, general contractors, and home improvement chains. Top Rail Fence Charlottesville is seeking a motivated Fence Sales Associate to contribute to our company's growth. As a Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in promoting and selling our fencing, staining, and railing products and services. You will meet with customers, discuss their fencing needs, discover which products will best suit their needs, and help explain how we can help in a clear and concise manner. Measure and record detailed measurements of customer's property to ensure an accurate quote can be generated. After this you will determine materials needed to complete the jobs using our estimating software and then create a proposal that you will send to the customer for their review. Follow up with the customer afterwards to address any questions or concerns about the project they may have. You will be helping our customers make informed decisions so they feel confident that we will meet their fencing needs and exceed their expectations. Engage with customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner. Become an expert on all things fencing; to help guide our customers, understand their fencing requirements, and offer suitable solutions. 2. Collaborate with other members of the sales team and company to meet and exceed sales targets. This will include email, phone calls, text messages, and other related means of communication. 3. Assist customers in selecting appropriate fencing, staining, and railing products and services. We are not here to just make a sale, but we strive to help our customers fulfill their fencing needs. 4. Build and nurture positive relationships with customers. 5. Stay updated on industry trends and product knowledge to effectively communicate the value of our fencing solutions to potential customers. Attendance at conferences relating to fencing and home services will be required on occasion. 6. Participate in sales training programs to enhance your sales skills and stay aligned with best practices. 7. Work alongside our marketing team to promote sales campaigns and initiatives, maximizing customer engagement. 8. Maintain accurate and organized records of customer interactions, sales activities, and relevant information in our CRM system. 9. Support the sales team in administrative tasks, order processing, and coordinating with other departments for seamless customer experience. 10. Uphold the company's commitment to quality and compliance by following all relevant sales regulations and standards. Requirements: 1. Previous experience in sales or customer-facing roles, with a passion for achieving and exceeding sales goals. Fence experience is not required. 2. Excellent communication and people skills, enabling you to connect with customers and address their needs effectively. 3. Basic understanding of sales techniques and the ability to learn about all our products and their benefits. 4. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. 5. Adaptability and willingness to learn about new products and industry developments. Occasional Network-Building events will be required. 6. Comfortable with using sales tools and software to manage customer interactions and sales processes. Basic computer skills are required. 7. Self-motivated and driven to succeed, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences. Take initiative on customer contact, follow ups and relationships. 8. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for travel to customer sites, job locations, and company meetings. Some yearly out-of-state travel is required; hotel and transportation will be provided for such events. 9. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in sales is a plus. Job Type: Full-time commission only Pay: Over 41% margin = 7% commission 38% - 40.99% margin = 6% commission 35% - 37.99% margin = 5% commission 34.99% or less margin = 4% commission Sales goal for the 2026 calendar year for this position is $1.5 million. Training stipend of $3000 a month for the first 3 months, starting from the first date of employment. The monthly payment of $3,000 serves as a guaranteed minimum compensation amount during the training period and functions as a non-recoverable draw against commissions. At the end of each month: * If earned commissions are less than $3,000 , the Employee will receive the full $3,000, and the difference is forgiven (not owed back to the Company). * If earned commissions are greater than $3,000 (e.g., $4,000), the Employee will receive the full commission amount (e.g., $4,000). The Employee will not receive the $3,000 minimum in addition to the commissions; the minimum is offset by the commissions earned.
