Company Description Here at Hikari Trading Co. we aim to become a new type of comprehensive welding trading company that combines the best aspects of American industry with the roles and values of a traditional Japanese trading company. We are engaged in the sales of a wide variety of welding-related products--including welding robots, specialized machines, peripheral equipment for specialized machines, general-purpose machines, electrodes, and control components-- primarily serving Japanese companies involved in the automotive industry. Hikari Trading Co. is looking for a highly motivated and passionate Outside Sales Representative to join our team. The main responsibilities of this role will be to serve as the primary contact for up to five assigned customers, maintain customer relationships, conducting on-site visits, and handling customer inquiries. What You Will be Doing * Assist up to five assigned customers with item and project inquiries * Travel directly to customers two to four times a week to provide on-site assistance and product delivery * Handling of customer inquiries for products or projects * Research new projects and propose new products to customers * Pursue new business opportunities through market trend analysis * Generate quotations by request * Communicate with suppliers, including group companies in Japan, Thailand, and Canada, in order to obtain pricing and delivery information * Follow up with customers after providing quotations * Prepare shipments and receive incoming products * Conduct monthly inventory counts and submit stock reports * Monitor and manage back orders and incoming shipments * Work closely with team members Our territory covers from Canada to Mexico, and travel to customers within the state and neighboring states is required. What We are Looking For * At least 1-year previous sales, customer service, and/or service industry experience is preferred * A valid driver's license is required * Bilingual Japanese speaking ability is a bonus Applicants must be willing to submit a background check. This is a full-time (non-exempt) position with working hours of 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM. We also offer a flex-time system, as well. Overtime may be required from time to time.
