In this energetic role, you will act as the vital link between shippers and carriers, orchestrating transportation solutions that keep supply chains moving smoothly and efficiently. Your expertise in supply chain management, transportation planning, and customer relationship management will drive success in connecting clients with reliable freight options. Responsibilities * Develop and maintain strong relationships with shippers, carriers, and clients to ensure seamless freight transactions. * Coordinate transportation planning by matching freight loads with appropriate carriers using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other logistics software like CRM platforms. * Negotiate rates, contracts, and service terms to optimize profitability while delivering exceptional customer service. * Manage inside sales efforts by generating leads through lead generation techniques, cold calling, and leveraging EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) systems for efficient data exchange. * Oversee dispatching activities including scheduling pickups and deliveries, tracking shipments via Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and ensuring compliance with FDA regulations when applicable. * Handle data entry tasks accurately within CRM software such as AS400 or similar platforms to maintain up-to-date records of shipments, pricing agreements, and customer interactions. * Collaborate with 3PL providers, NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers), and carriers to ensure timely freight movement while managing logistics sales opportunities. Qualifications * Must have proven and demonstratable book of dray, transload, warehouse or transportation management business * Proven experience or strong interest in supply chain management, transportation management, or logistics sales. * Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), CRM software like AS400 or similar platforms, and EDI processes. * Excellent negotiation skills coupled with a customer-centric approach to account management and B2B sales. * Knowledge of freight logistics including dispatching, carrier sales, pricing strategies, contracts, and transportation planning. * Ability to handle data entry accurately and efficiently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. * Understanding of FDA regulations related to transportation when applicable is a plus. * Strong communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and carriers alike.
