Position Overview: The Event Sales Associate is responsible for working with and under the supervision of the Director of Event Sales to solicit, sell and book all conference and event space 24/7/365 for all the event space. After the guest/client is booked the Event Sales Associate is to complete the process with their client selections of all options, food & beverage and all event requirements including set-up in ReServe. The Event Sales Associate is also to be present to greet every client unless the Director of Event Sales assigns the client to another Event Sales Associate for the greeting at the event. The Event Sales Associate will contribute to generating new conference and event business leads, selling and servicing existing Banquet Event Orders for clients. The Event Sales Associate will offer personalized solutions for our clients and enhance our reputation and business by working with our Event Service Team to ensure we exceed our clientele's expectations. An Event Sales Associate must multitask and complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner. The Event Sales Associate must be extremely organized, personable and enthusiastic. The Event Sales Associate represents the company at the event as well as to our clients and as such will maintain the highest level of professionalism and customer service. Majority of weekend nights required. Revenue generation (sales) is the number one priority of this position. JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS * After discussing details with the guest, book the room that's appropriate for the type of event, number of guests, double-check the date, plan the room set-up and work with the chef to finalize the menu. * As the date for the banquet approaches, confirm all details with the customer, the chef and event service manager and event service captain. * The Event Sales Associate is responsible for all aspects of the sale and set-up. * As a representative of the Event Sales Department, it's important that the Event Sales Associate responds promptly and professionally, whether by phone, email, fax, text, or social media, and notes all verbal and written communication confirming all details discussed on ReServe. * The Event Sales Associate must be comfortable cold calling, networking with contacts and using social media marketing to create new business on an ongoing basis. This requires knowing the space available at all times and marketing to enhance our company -- and therefore as profitable as possible at all times. * Solicit new and existing accounts through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, offsite visits, eMail communication and solicitation. * Develop new markets for Sales through the cultivation of relationship with key clients and businesses within the community * Solicit existing account base to generate additional bookings from each account * Collection of Advance Deposits and payments as required per schedule * Prompt response to all eMail inquiries (same day) in an effort to capture additional market share * Solicit from and confirm with clients, all information pertaining to the event they are planning and organize information on ReServe. * Participate in trade shows, promotional and networking events * Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service to our clients and guests. * Knowledge of all space capacities, procedures and terminology of room set-ups * Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal * High energy with exceptional organization and communication skills * Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a very busy environment * Assertive, self-starter, self-motivator with a high degree of professionalism * Experience in internet research and database mining * Knowledge of various cultural social events including, but not limited to weddings, Quinceanera's, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs and fraternal organization meetings. * Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends. * Conduct, but try to limit, tours of the facility (use your sales ipads and sales TV's in the office), menu tastings and meetings with the clients. * Use client database to keep in touch with past clients through phone calls, emails, letters, and personal meetings. * Handle all client complaints, concerns, and inquiries. * Understands all details pertaining to the wedding, corporate, local, social market and small group market. Develops relationships with area Hotels. * Establish relationships with area hotels and managers in conjunction with Director of Event Sales. * Assist with selling, implementing event promotions. * Works directly with clients, wedding planners, and meeting planners gathering necessary information for menu planning, floor plan, room set up, timelines, rental orders, decor, cost and billing details and any other requirements pertinent to their event in a timely manner and assist with those items as necessary. * Greets client and assists in conducting tastings. * Interact effectively with sales, kitchen, service, vendors to ensure guest satisfaction. * Complete all Event Reports, all post-event file and updates on ReServe. * Maintain complete and in-depth computer files on ReServe for all clients. * Practice and observe safety rules and regulations and encourage other to do the same. * Will work cooperatively with outside vendors to conduct business professionally and in the best interest of the Company. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned. * Establish a rapport with clients to ensure guest satisfaction and repeat business. * Minimize number of customer complaints. * Ensure a professional attitude and proper business attire and grooming standards when on property, ready to meet or service a client at any time. If you are clean, neat, well groomed, smell great, dress well and smile you are more than half way to closing that next potential client. * Teamwork-Relations with co-workers and management. * Report any deficiencies in equipment and facilities to Director of Event Sales and General Manager. * Quality of department phone handling. * Meeting with service staff on proper set-up of Event Room at time of Function while on duty. * Monitor and evaluate, on a continuous basis, the level of service maintained by the Service Department. * Report any and all indications of removal of company property, food and beverage, any theft of any product, linens, silverware, glassware, food and beverage to Director of Event Sales AND General Manager immediately by text or verbally. * Maintaining "I Can Do (SELL) It" Sales Attitude QUALIFICATIONS * MUST HAVE hospitality, food/beverage experience. * A minimum of 2 years Sales experience. * Experience preferably in conference and event sales. * Must enjoy soliciting and asking for business and closing sales. * Must enjoy a team sales approach. * Exceptional detail in follow-up. * Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills. * Strong customer service orientation and skills. * Ability to focus attention on details. Must be extremely detail oriented and organized. * Excellent listening skills. * Flexible work schedule. * Ability to multi task and prioritize. * Must communicate effectively with Direct of Event Sales and other Event Sales Associates, Event Service Manager, Chef and staff including effective and efficient. * Must be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems, exercising good judgment. * Work without direct supervision. * Work cooperatively and professionally with other departments, with respect to the chain of command. * Must possess mature, professional demeanor to interact with vendors, staff and guests. * BE onsite for events to greet your clients and ensure their expectations are met (this position requires working some nights and Saturdays and some Sundays). * Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel. * Must have BEO Software expertise with Reserve or similar BEO System * Proficient with Social Media/Networks (Facebook, Linked, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) as well as Review Networks (Yelp, Zagat, Google etc.) * Bilingual Preferred EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS * High School diploma or equivalent required. * MUST HAVE hospitality OR food/beverage experience. * A minimum of 2 years Sales experience. * CA Food Handler Certificate Job Type: Full-time Pay: Hourly + Incentive (Compensation based on experience) Benefits: * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Vision insurance Job Type: Full-time Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour Benefits: * Dental insurance * Employee discount * Flexible schedule * Health insurance * Vision insurance Ability to Commute: * Montebello, CA 90640 (Required) Work Location: In personQuiet Cannon Montebello Inc.
