Full description of the position

Job Title: Government Sales Manager - Inside Sales Location: Columbus, Ohio Position Summary: The Government Sales Manager - Inside Sales is responsible for managing and developing the inside sales team focused exclusively on U.S. federal government customers , including the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Defense (DoD), and other federal healthcare agencies. This role drives revenue growth by leading inside sales operations, coordinating federal contract opportunities, and ensuring all sales activities align with company goals and federal acquisition requirements. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Territory Sales Responsibility * Lead, coach, and develop the inside sales team to achieve monthly and annual federal sales targets. * Develop and implement inside sales strategies to expand JANZ Corporation's presence across VA, DoD, and federal medical facilities. * Coordinate with Contracts, Operations, and Marketing to align sales goals with federal contracting and supply initiatives. * Develop a specific territory with sales responsibility and develop this region that is assigned. Sales Execution & Pipeline Management * Oversee daily inside sales activities, including quotes, order processing, and customer support for ECAT, GSA, DAPA, and MSPV opportunities. * Monitor and manage sales pipelines using CRM tools to track performance metrics, win rates, and follow-up activity. * Support the submission of RFQs, RFPs, and bids through SAM.gov , ECAT , and other federal procurement systems. Customer & Partner Relations * Build and maintain strong relationships with federal contracting officers, logistics personnel, and prime vendor partners. * Serve as a key point of contact for VA Medical Centers, DoD hospitals, and military bases to ensure customer satisfaction. * Coordinate with manufacturers and distributors to secure government pricing, availability, and technical support for proposals. Compliance & Reporting * Ensure all inside sales activities comply with FAR , DFARS , and agency-specific acquisition regulations. * Maintain accurate documentation for all quotes, bids, and transactions in compliance with internal and federal audit requirements. * Prepare and present sales performance reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates to executive leadership. Qualifications: * Associates degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred). * Minimum of 3 years of experience in federal government sales , with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role. * Prefer some experience working with VA , DoD , or federal healthcare procurement systems. * Familiarity with ECAT, GSA Advantage, DAPA, and MSPV contract vehicles. * Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and federal acquisition processes. * Proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Key Competencies: * Strong understanding of the federal healthcare supply chain and procurement process. * Ability to lead and motivate an inside sales team to meet and exceed performance goals. * Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. * Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to identify and capitalize on federal sales opportunities.
