Full description of the position
Job Description The Distribution Center Coordinator is responsible for providing support and responding to emerging operational needs. They will coordinate and ensure the efficient and effective operations of all Distribution Center Employees as well as the shipment and delivery of sales orders that meets or exceeds the customer's expectations, policies, goals, and objectives. The Distribution Center Coordinator's work schedule may include on-call responsibilities and some evenings/weekends as necessary to address emergency issues. Responsibilities * Coordinates shift activities with management team and planning department to ensure the Distribution Center objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner * Provides leadership and direction for employees through effective communications, mentoring, coaching, training, and development * Assists management efforts in root cause analysis, problem solving, and elimination of recurring issues as directed by supervision or management * Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during the execution of Distribution Center activities * Resolves employee issues through problem resolution techniques * Escalates issues to management in a timely manner * Schedules and coordinates applicable inbound/outbound shipments on a daily basis * Picks/Packs materials for sales orders * Loads/Unloads using forklift and/or pallet jack * Validates quality and accuracy of all sales orders * Performs inventory management, including transfers, cycle counting, adjustments, etc. * Assists management with planning, budgeting, and compliance standards, policies, and procedures * Assists management and corporate office with various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules, training of new employees, and all safety protocols * Performs other duties and special projects as assigned Qualifications * High school diploma or GED * Experience in an industrial warehouse environment with knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within related field * Demonstrates a high level of customer service * Proven leader and team player with strong work ethic * Ability to work safely in a highly automated environment with responsibility for ensuring distribution center safety of all employees * Ability to communicate and work well with others * Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume, and automated environment with strong attention to detail and an emphasis on quality of work * Knowledge of Inventory Control Procedures * Ability to learn new skills and apply the new skills to daily work tasks * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills * Ability to adapt to change is essential * Ability to operate powered lift equipment (forklift, wave picker, hoists, etc.) * Highly motivated, disciplined problem-solver * Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture * Ability to handle vendor customer relations and negotiations * Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s) Company Description We are a customer-focused, integrated maintenance company operating projects throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states.
