We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented Customs Broker/Entry Writer to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of import and export shipments, customs entries, bonded movements, and logistics coordination, ensuring full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations, Partner Government Agencies, and duty free requirements. The position plays a critical role in customs compliance, cargo release, bonded warehouse coordination, and end to end documentation management. Key Responsibilities Customs Documentation, Entry Processing, and Compliance * Prepare, complete, and submit CBP Form 7501 for import entries, including FDA filings when applicable. * Prepare and submit customs documentation for ocean and domestic truck shipments. * Prepare and submit CBP Forms 7512, 214, and related bonded movement documentation for FTZ, bonded warehouse, and domestic movements. * Review, validate, and ensure accuracy of commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, delivery notes, and supporting documentation. * Verify Harmonized Tariff Schedule classification, country of origin, valuation, and legal import requirements. * Ensure compliance with CBP regulations and Partner Government Agencies including FDA, USDA, TSA, or others based on product type. * Advise internal teams on tariff classification, bonded requirements, and regulatory obligations. Duties, Taxes, and Fee Management * Accurately calculate duties, taxes, and applicable fees based on classification and valuation. * Coordinate and manage payment of duties, taxes, and other applicable charges to ensure timely cargo release. Logistics and Shipment Coordination * Schedule inbound and outbound shipments for import, export, and bonded movements. * Coordinate container arrivals, customs clearance, bonded transport, and final delivery. * Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, FTZs, and bonded warehouses. * Track shipments, bonded status, and releases, updating internal systems accordingly. Ensure all paperwork complies with bonded transport and duty free regulations. Bonded Warehouse, FTZ, and Domestic Truck Processes * Request and receive required documentation such as CBP Forms 7512 and 214 from vendors or FTZs. * File and monitor CBP Form 7501 and FDA entries until release. * After CBP release, create and validate Form 6043 delivery tickets with Customs. * Schedule cargo pickup with FTZ or bonded facilities once customs release is confirmed. Upon receipt at the warehouse, coordinate the creation of Goods Receipt PO in SAP. * Maintain and attach all supporting documentation within SAP and internal filing systems. Export Processes, Domestic Customers, and Duty Free Movements * Prepare and submit CBP Form 7512 for exports to domestic customers. Coordinate with warehouse and sales teams to obtain delivery notes and shipment documentation. * Process exports once accounting approval is received. * Coordinate delivery once CBP approval of Form 7512 is obtained. * Confirm merchandise delivery and export IT or 7512 numbers in Editrade. * Maintain complete export records and attach documentation in SAP in coordination with warehouse teams. Recordkeeping, Audits, and Internal Controls * Maintain detailed and compliant records of bonded entries, releases, imports, and exports. * Prepare documentation for customs officers, auditors, and internal reviews. * Ensure proper filing, retention, and closure of files based on FIFO methodology. * Handle internal filing systems and recordkeeping to support compliance audits and regulatory reviews. Client and Government Liaison * Act as a liaison between the company, vendors, carriers, freight forwarders, customs authorities, FTZs, and government agencies. * Communicate with CBP and Partner Government Agencies including FDA when required. * Provide shipment status updates and resolve issues related to holds, exams, or documentation discrepancies. Experience and Qualifications * 1 to 2 years of experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, bonded warehouse operations, or logistics coordination preferred. * Coursework or education in logistics, international trade, or customs regulations is a plus. * Working knowledge of CBP Forms 7501, 7512, 214, bonded transport, FTZ operations, and duty free regulations. * Familiarity with FDA compliance and PGA requirements preferred. * Experience working with SAP, Editrade, or similar systems is a plus. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook. * Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously. * Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordination with internal teams and external agencies.
