Mille Lacs Soil Service was founded by local farmers in 1965. We are located just off highway 23 in Foreston, MN. During our 55 years in business we've seen many changes, but the one thing that will never change is the upfront honest, and professional services we offer. We blend all kinds of different fertilizers right here as well as coming right out to your farm to take soil samples and spray your fields. Job Overview We are seeking an Agronomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting research and field studies to improve crop production and sustainability. Duties -Work with farmers, ranchers, and producers to promote the proper use of crop protection products plant food, seed and other services offered at the cooperative to area producers by making on-the-farm sales presentations -Execute sales plans to achieve sales goals and increase profitability through implementation of sales, marketing and consulting processes for products and services -Facilitate positive long-term relationships with suppliers and customers to create long term repeat business -Identify needs and provide consultative services for businesses and customers by combining established relationships with product, marketing, and technical skills -Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner -Service customer complaints and inquiries -Develop knowledge of multiple products and apply this knowledge in all aspects of the job -Other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or related field -Experience in agronomy, sales, field development or research and development roles; -Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. (a bag of seed or fertilizer) -Valid driver's license.
