Tri-Signal Integration, Inc., an industry leader specializing in the sales, design, installation and servicing of state-of-the-art customized Fire Alarm and Low-voltage systems has immediate opening at our Valencia, CA location for a Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Design Engineer. Qualified candidate will be responsible for the working knowledge and operating experience of the software AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Outlook. The familiarity of NFPA, California Building and local codes, construction documents and drawings and the ability to read them is a strong requirement of this position. A NICET level IV certification in Fire Alarm is a MUST. This position will report to the Director of Engineering and will get their daily work schedule from that manager. Duties/Responsibilities: Will be responsible for designing and creating working drawings for Fire Alarm & Low Voltage Systems. Review and approval of all design drawings by designer/drafters prior to submission to the AHJ. Interpretation of code requirements. Collaborate with team members. Provide technical support. Requirements: * Have 10+ years of experience in Low Voltage Systems to include: Fire Alarm, Security, Tele/Data, CCTV, Nurse Call, and Audio Systems and understand their role in the demanding construction industry. * Preferably 10-15 years' experience in the design of Fire Alarm Systems. * Good oral and written communication skills. * Personal computer skills to include: AutoCAD, word processing, and spreadsheets. * Understanding of the process of construction projects and requirements to document all changes and deviations to specifications. * Experience working with Plan Reviewers and Inspectors. * Must be self-motivated; team-oriented person and possess great work ethics. * Candidate must have the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. * Knowledge of NFPA, UL, FM, NEC, ADA, UBC, UFC, and other related codes. * NICET Level IV certification * Knowledge of Notifier fire alarm products is desired Job Type: Full-time Benefits: * Paid time off Education: * High school or equivalent (Preferred) Experience: * Fire Alarm: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: * NICET Certification?
