Territory Sales Manager Austin and San Antonio Markets Twisted Nail Sand & Gravel Company Overview Founded in 2012, Twisted Nail Sand & Gravel is a family-owned business providing trucking solutions and direct-to-jobsite aggregate supply for commercial construction projects throughout Central Texas. Twisted Nail supports contractors by sourcing and delivering aggregate materials including rock, dirt, and sand. Our customers include general contractors and subcontractors managing a wide range of projects, from smaller commercial work such as house pads and driveways to large-scale infrastructure, energy, and industrial construction including stadiums and solar or wind farms. Our team maintains a high level of performance excellence, providing customers with consistent results that allow projects to remain on time and on budget. Summary of Position The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for developing and managing a book of business within the Austin and San Antonio markets. This role focuses on building and expanding long-term relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, and project managers who value reliable execution, strong market knowledge, and responsive service. Territory efforts are driven by opportunity rather than rigid geographic boundaries. Both Austin and San Antonio are active, growing markets, and the role will naturally follow where project activity and customer relationships are developing. This position is intended for an experienced construction sales professional who can step into the role with minimal ramp time, operate independently in the field, and quickly begin generating results. While relationship-building remains critical, this role assumes familiarity with construction sales cycles and the ability to engage decision-makers with confidence early in the process. Reporting and Team Structure This role reports to the Director of Sales and Fulfillment, based out of the company offices in Waco, Texas. The Sales Director is actively involved in strategic support and deal execution, while expecting Territory Sales Managers to operate independently and manage their territory without micromanagement. The sales team includes a Territory Manager covering Waco and surrounding markets and a sales representative providing additional sales coverage within Austin. This position expands experienced sales coverage across Austin and San Antonio. Compensation and Commission Structure Compensation includes a $70,000 base salary plus a flat commission earned on gross profit. * Commission: 3% of gross profit , uncapped To translate this into practical outcomes: * $1,000,000 in sales results in total compensation of approximately $75,000 * $3,000,000 in sales results in total compensation of approximately $85,000 These projections are based on standard commercial work. Larger, multi- million-dollar projects do occur and represent meaningful upside beyond baseline expectations. Strong performers may be eligible for performance-based bonuses and future compensation adjustments. Performance Expectations and Ramp The Territory Sales Manager role follows the same core ramp structure as other outside sales positions, with annual expectations based on experience and required onboarding training. * During the first three months, emphasis is placed on field presence, relationship development, and early traction * Between months three and six, we expect measurable progress toward sales goals with a clear upward trajectory * From months six through twelve, performance is evaluated against established sales goals The first-year sales goal for this role is $1,500,000. Given the experience level expected, Territory Sales Managers are anticipated to require less training and to begin progressing toward goals more quickly. Primary Responsibilities * Build and manage a personal book of business across the Austin and San Antonio markets * Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, and project managers * Identify and pursue active and upcoming construction projects through market awareness, jobsite activity, and contractor outreach * Work with internal teams to source aggregate materials and coordinate trucking solutions that meet customer project requirements * Maintain clear, timely communication with dispatch and operations to ensure execution aligns with customer expectations * Maintain accurate activity and customer records within the company CRM * Represent Twisted Nail professionally in fast-paced, time-sensitive situations where responsiveness and reliability are critical Work Location, Schedule, and Travel This is a field-based role. On average, the position involves 3 to 4 days per week in market and 1 to 2 days per week in the Waco office. Work hours and availability are driven by customer and project needs. Early mornings, late afternoons, or occasional weekend responsiveness may be required based on construction schedules. Regular travel between Austin, San Antonio, and Waco is required regardless of candidate location. A personal vehicle is required. A company fuel card is provided. Tools and Systems Sales representatives use Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe PDF, and Twisted Nail's internal CRM daily. CRM experience is preferred. Training is provided on internal systems. Qualifications * Construction sales experience required * Quarry and trucking experience strongly preferred * Proven ability to manage long sales cycles and close complex commercial work * Strong communication skills and professional presence with construction decision-makers * Bi-lingual English and Spanish preferred, but not required * Ability to operate independently and manage a territory with minimal oversight * Comfortable operating in active construction, quarry, and jobsite environments * Valid driver's license and clean driving record Benefits * Health insurance reimbursement through QSEHRA ($512.00 per month) * Company fuel card * Two weeks PTO after three months, three weeks after two years * Performance-based bonuses * Uncapped commission opportunity Disclaimer This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed.
