Full description of the position

Job Summary: The Builder Sales Executive (In Training) plays a critical role in supporting CALI's continued growth within the new home builder channel. This role is designed for an individual with strong sales aptitude who will undergo targeted development and training to prepare for full ownership of an assigned builder territory. Under the guidance and support of the Sales Executive Builder team leadership, this position will learn CALI's builder programs, products, and support the sales processes while building foundational relationships with builders, contractors, and design centers. Upon successful completion of the training program, the individual will transition into a fully autonomous sales role managing their own builder accounts and territory. The Builder Sales Executive (In Training) will: * Support CALI's growth strategy by learning and applying best practices in the builder and contractor sales environment * Collaborate with senior sales leaders and other team members to support active accounts and new business development * Participate in market assessments, customer meetings, builder design center visits, and training programs * Progressively take on more direct ownership of relationships, sales targets, and territory responsibilities *Essential Duties & responsibilities: * Shadow and support existing Builder Sales Executives and senior leadership to learn CALI's approach to the builder channel * Call on builders, contractors, and design centers under guidance to develop familiarity with account needs and sales processes * Coordinate with CALI sales representatives to support dealers and builder accounts where needed * Support builder channel marketing initiatives, events, and product specification efforts * Participate in strategic targeting of new business opportunities to build long-term relationships * Assist with the development and execution of quarterly strategic sales plans aligned with annual company goals * Develop product knowledge across the full CALI offering and stay current on industry trends and competitive landscape * Engage with stakeholders including owners, designers, specifiers, and contractors to promote CALI products * Partner cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and leadership teams to support builder programs * Maintain accurate records in ERP/CRM systems and assist with reporting as needed * Complete training milestones, participate in coaching sessions, and demonstrate readiness for independent territory management * Other duties as assigned related to the builder sales channel Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree preferred * Interest or background in the flooring, building materials, or construction industry a plus * Strong communication skills with an ability to quickly build rapport with prospective customers * Demonstrated initiative, high energy, and self-starter mentality * Willingness to travel for training, market visits, and account support * Experience with ERP/CRM systems preferred but not required * Ability to understand pricing strategies and customer buying behaviors * Comfortable using a laptop computer and basic Microsoft Windows software Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Work will be performed on laptop/computer primarily in an office environment. Some travel may be required. The position will require long hours on a computer keyboard and monitor with prolonged periods of standing and/or walking and/or sitting. Physical requirements include standing for long periods of time, walking, squatting, twisting, bending, reaching, and lifting, pushing, and lifting between 10-50lbs regularly.
