Overview
The Sales Administrator provides comprehensive administrative and inside sales support to the Sales Department within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for managing customer communications, supporting the sales cycle, coordinating contract and credit documentation, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of sales-related activities. The role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Duties
- Inside sales support: Conduct outbound cold calls, qualify leads, follow up on quotations, and assist in developing new and existing customer accounts.
- Contract administration: Prepare, review, and route sales contracts, pricing agreements, and related documentation for internal approval.
- Credit request coordination: Create and submit internal credit applications and credit limit adjustments in accordance with company policies.
- Order processing support: Assist with order entry, verify product specifications, and ensure alignment with manufacturing capabilities and lead times.
- CRM and ERP maintenance: Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, and pipeline data within company systems.
- Crossdepartment collaboration: Coordinate with Production, Planning, Engineering, Logistics, and Finance to support customer requirements and resolve issues.
- Quotation and proposal preparation: Generate pricing sheets, formal quotations, and bid packages based on customer needs and manufacturing standards.
- Customer communication: Respond to inquiries regarding pricing, product availability, order status, and technical documentation.
- Reporting and documentation: Prepare sales reports, backlog summaries, and documentation required for audits or internal reviews.
- Compliance adherence: Ensure all sales files, contracts, and credit documents meet internal policy, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial sales support preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
- Proficiency with CRM and ERP systems and standard office software.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
