Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and retail sales, with the ability to engage with customers while providing an exceptional shopping experience. As a Sales Associate, you play a key role in driving sales with use of effective communication, appropriate merchandising, and proficient product knowledge.

Duties

• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product selections.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, including cashiering and cash handling.
• Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits to customers.
• Engage in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor through effective merchandising strategies.
• Assist in stocking shelves and managing inventory levels to ensure product availability.
• Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance and support in daily operations.
• Utilize basic math skills for retail math calculations related to pricing and discounts.
• Uphold phone etiquette standards when handling customer inquiries via phone.
• Foster a positive shopping environment that encourages repeat business.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with a broader customer base.
• Familiarity with merchandising principles and techniques is advantageous.
• Basic math skills are essential for handling transactions accurately.
• Experience with supervising staff is beneficial but not required.
• A proactive attitude towards upselling products and enhancing the overall customer experience is highly valued.
