Organization description The Loupe is a specialty jewelry brand showcasing designers and innovators in the jewelry accessory world that stand out as leaders in the fine, fashion jewelry landscape. The Loupe's mission is to offer elevated level of service and follow-through, a relaxed but luxurious atmosphere, exclusive products and offers regular "traffic-driving" activations and innovative events and experiences. The Loupe is conveniently located in MartinPatrick3 in the buzzing North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis. Clients of The Loupe and MartinPatrick3 are living, working or visiting Downtown. They have an appreciation for luxury and fashion, and a preference for new and exciting products and experiences exclusive to The Loupe in the Midwest region. Position purpose The role of the sales associate is to work on site at The Loupe, providing excellent service to The Loupe & MartinPatrick3 client, actively pursuing sales, engage in team selling opportunities and building client database. Responsibilities will include handling of inventory, administrative functions, engage in training opportunities, and communication with The Loupe team and MP3 team. The sales associate also participates in hosting events, promotions, and other activations to drive interest, traffic, and ultimately sales. The Sales associate also provides input on merchandising decisions and display in- store. Key accountabilities - Sales * Provide best possible client "experience" daily. Engage with clients and team members. Be hospitable, be passionate and provide excellent product knowledge. Be the "Host" of The Loupe. Act as brand ambassador for The Loupe. * Sell directly to clients through in-store interaction, focus on client retention and actively sell via; text, email, photography, look books and other means. * Source new sales opportunities through networking and outreach to develop personal customer base. * Support the selling efforts of others on the team and MP3 team members. Engage in "team selling" by developing strong team relationships thus creating cross-selling opportunities. Offer technical support as well as sales support. * Know your numbers. Know the sales goals for The Loupe as well as event goals on a monthly basis. * Enthusiastically participate in frequent event experiences at The Loupe. These are opportunities to engage clients in "what's hot and new". Experienced based events give the clients exposure to products and experiences they cannot get elsewhere. * Facilitate strong retention habits before, during and after the sale. Obtain client information by offering invites to future events, follow up with "thank you" notes and most importantly follow up with special requests in a timely manner. * Always be learning and advancing your personal skillset by being curious, asking questions and striving to be the best salesperson and host in The Loupe environment. Other Key accountabilities * Set up and take down jewelry daily in compliance with insurance demands and place in secure vault. * Display Jewelry in elevated, luxurious manner. Include proper signage, adhere to Loupe merchandising standards. * Source inventory as needed. Say "yes" whenever possible to provide the client with product options they are seeking. * Communicate client wants to influence future buying decisions. The Loupe strives to offer new, exciting products that cannot be found everywhere. * Provide technical, product knowledge for the client and MP3 sales team. * Attend product knowledge seminars and be aware of new arrivals, key selling language, upcoming events, styling opportunities, best hosting practices, how to show and close the sale. * Take in jewelry, watches and other items in for repairs. Correctly identify and inspect items taken in. Explain best options for repair to client. Log all repair items and communicate with store director and buying team to begin repair process. Communicate with client time frame, estimate cost for repair and manage client expectations. Perform simple repairs while client waits whenever possible. * Always consider the security of the store and your team members. Ensure the floor is adequately covered. Exercise good judgement when showing merchandise and dealing with clients. * Maintain clean, professional standards within the workspace and within the store. Adjust displays, sales tags, counters, cases etc. * Be available to work special hours for store events, special clients etc. * Occasionally support in shipping and receiving. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work primarily in a retail sales environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be exposed to some chemicals used for cleaning metals. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be prone to standing for lengthy periods of time. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is required to see clearly and speak clearly and concisely to clients. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to hear objects, tools, or controls. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision. Lifting requirements may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Anticipated rate of pay: $26.00/hour Requirements: Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Strong salesmanship and hospitality acumen, self-awareness, ability to communicate clearly and concisely delegate, execute tasks and remain diligent in daily work and actively participate in ensuring a healthy, positive team environment. * Passionate about luxury retail, fine jewelry and fashion styling. Professional knowledge of jewelry, watches, stone identification, metals and construction * Eager to continue development and learning. * Ability to work independently. * Night and weekend availability. Education and Experience * Experience working closely with small * Proven ability to sell and promote * Industry education and degree preferred, Graduate gemologist degree or previous Gemological Institute of America (GIA) course work is preferred. * Previous retail or luxury retail experience or relevant customer related experience, hospitality.
