Sales Manager - Courtyard by Marriott St. Paul Airport Position Summary The Sales Manager is responsible for generating revenue by identifying, developing, and managing new and existing business opportunities for the hotel. This role focuses on maximizing rooms, catering, and ancillary revenue while upholding Marriott brand standards and delivering exceptional client service. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development * Proactively identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities within assigned market segments (e.g., Corporate, Group, SMERF, BT, Association, Government). * Conduct outside sales calls, hotel site tours, client entertainment, and participation in industry events to build strong relationships. * Develop, negotiate, and close group and business transient contracts in accordance with Marriott pricing policies and revenue strategy guidance. * Maintain an active pipeline using Marriott sales tools (CI/TY, Delphi, and CI/TY Lite where applicable). Account Management * Manage existing accounts to maximize repeat business and share shift from competing hotels. * Conduct regular account reviews, performance updates, and strategy meetings with key clients. * Ensure all client needs are met by coordinating effectively with operations, revenue management, and catering/event teams. Revenue & Strategy * Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Revenue Manager on pricing strategies, forecasting, and market positioning. * Analyze performance reports, competitive sets, and market trends to identify opportunities for revenue growth. * Meet or exceed sales activity and revenue production goals. Administrative & Compliance * Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all sales activities in CI/TY or other Marriott systems. * Prepare weekly/monthly reports, sales action plans, and account strategies. * Ensure all contracts meet Marriott and ownership compliance standards. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field preferred. * 1-3 years of hotel sales experience; Marriott experience preferred. * Strong understanding of hotel revenue management and market segmentation. * Knowledge of Social Media postings and advertising. * Cvent, Agency 360, Demand 360 experience preferred. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. * Proficiency in MS Office and Marriott systems preferred.
