Full description of the position

Job Summary Quality Inn Coliseum is hiring a results-driven Sales & Marketing Manager to grow room revenue through corporate, group, and long-stay business while elevating our local market presence. You will own the sales pipeline end-to-end--prospecting, contracting, account management, and forecasting-- while leading marketing initiatives that increase direct bookings, group inquiries, and brand visibility. This role is ideal for someone who can sell outside the building , build strong relationships, and execute marketing that converts. Key Responsibilities-Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth * Build and execute a weekly sales plan to hit revenue goals across corporate, government, sports groups, SMERF, travel nurses/medical, construction crews, and tour operators. * Drive outside sales: cold calls, in-person visits, networking, community partnerships, site tours, and hosted inspections. * Develop negotiated rate accounts (LNR) and production-based agreements that generate consistent room nights. * Manage group leads/RFPs, proposals, and contracts from inquiry through pickup and post-stay follow-up. * Maintain strong relationships with existing accounts; grow share through proactive service, check-ins, and performance reviews. Pipeline Management, Forecasting & Reporting * Own the sales pipeline using CRM tools (Salesforce or similar) and maintain accurate notes, tasks, and next steps. * Deliver weekly reporting on: * Leads received, calls/visits completed, proposals sent * Conversion rates and pace * Forecast accuracy and account production * Monitor market conditions, local demand drivers, and competitor activity; adjust strategies to protect ADR and maximize occupancy. Marketing & Brand Visibility * Plan and execute marketing campaigns including: * Local outreach, promotions, and partnership marketing * Digital marketing content (social posts, email campaigns, flyers, sales collateral) * Listing optimization (hotel content accuracy across channels) * Work with operations to ensure offers align with guest expectations and brand standards. * Support reputation growth through proactive communication strategies and guest experience alignment (in partnership with the operations team). Team Collaboration & Leadership * Collaborate with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Management to ensure group arrivals, long-stay guests, and VIP accounts are delivered smoothly. * Mentor sales/front desk team members on lead handling, upselling, and service recovery best practices. Success Metrics (What "Great" Looks Like) * Consistent weekly prospecting activity (calls, visits, networking) with documented CRM follow-up * Growth in negotiated accounts and group room nights * Strong conversion rates from lead -> proposal -> contract -> pickup * Improved occupancy in need periods and stronger ADR protection in high demand periods * Increased local awareness and qualified inquiries through campaigns/partnerships Required Skills & Experience * Proven experience in outside sales + B2B sales (hospitality sales strongly preferred) * Strong account management, negotiation, and contracting skills * Ability to build relationships with decision-makers (HR, travel managers, coaches, medical staffing coordinators, project managers) * CRM proficiency (Salesforce or similar) * Strong organization, reporting, and forecasting ability * Excellent communication and customer service mindset Preferred Qualifications * Hotel sales experience (Choice, Wyndham, Marriott, IHG, etc.) * Experience selling to sports teams, travel nurse agencies, government, or construction crews * Digital marketing skills (email campaigns, basic content creation, local partnerships) Work Environment & Schedule * Primarily weekday schedule with flexibility for occasional evenings/weekends for events, site tours, and group needs. * Local travel required for outside sales calls and networking.
